What should a full synthetic tranny flush cost??

I have no idea so no flames. My dealer (Whom I trust and love working with because they are a Nissan 1st dealer) Said about $230. The synthetic trany fluid there is $17 a quart!! Can I get it cheaper else where? Any thoughts?

LOL...my buddy was going to do this with he rear diff on his Ford F-150. Could not find the "wierd" weight 75w-140 locally anywhere. Went to Ford, asked for it W/O asking for price and about died when the bill came in. It to was 17.49 a quart and he only needed 5.7 pints.

Went online www.myoilshop.com and checked out the cost of Redline. 7 bucks a quart. So needless to say the Ford stuff got returned.

Now labor rates different area to area, but in southern Ohio, labor is about 65 bucks and hour. So, 250 seems a bit high to me.

Figure 2 hours ==> 130
No idea on the quartage 5? 17 * 5 ==> 85
Total ==> 215.

If they allow you to substitute your own fluid, you might be able to save about 50 bucks. Labor is labor and you probably might not get around the dealers cost if you want to do it there.

I just recently switched over to synthetic. Dealer used my fluid (15 quarts for complete flush) and charged me $75 (app 1hr. labor).

So if I'm looking to have someone flush mine, I need about 15 quarts?

Man, that expensive. Is that a BG Flush or T-Tech? With a BG Flush and Fill with dino juice ATF should cost around $150-160.00.

I have Amsoil ATF and believe it will last at least 60,000 miles if not more. Redline does not promote extended use for ATF so 30,000 is the most that they would say use.

Labor, assuming the BG system should run $100.00, T-Tech about $75.00.

I did the T-Tech with my local import specialist using my Amsoil ATF for $70.00 in labor and disposal.

for auto? 230 is too much. Tranny flush is about 140 and that includes the fluid. you should ask for discount if u bring your own oil. btw, redline costs 7 dollars a quart.

ask them if that 230 deal include cleaning the tranny pan and replace the gasket (gasket is 20 dollars)....if it does, it's not a bad deal. ask them for 180 if u bring your own oil.

230 - (17 dollars a quart times 11 quarts).....so the flush should cost 60 bucks if u bring ur own oil

The transmisison has a total capacity of 10 qts. You can get away with 12 to ensure the tranny is completely flushed of the old stuff. I've heard of shops asking for between 12-20 qts. for this reason. Based on many posts on tis forum, it appears that 12 qts. is sufficient. Where are THEY coming up with 8 qts?
