I heard a stock 99 max can do this. Don't know how your moded car performs.

Also, the Acura TL-s with 260hp can only do 6.7sec, so what is the trick that Max excel?

For one thing, 0-60 is not everything. 1/4 mile is a better gauge of power.

Keep in mind the posted time of car mags are usaually +/- .04 sec. That leaves a pretty big margin between written times.

As far as the Acura vs. Maxima thing, there are too many variables to list. Among them: Gearing, weight, tires, power curves, etc...

I dont know if that answered your question. I dont think there is any "trick" to make the Max excel. It comes down to physics and weather conditions.

Cartest shows that if a 92-94se 5spd cuts a 2.1x 60' it would run a 6.6 0-60mph.

VQ, technology, whats that?? more like VE technology...it was only out for 2 years but technology wise was superior to the VQ.

Motor Trend, February 1995

One of the technical high points of the '95 Maxima is its new V-6 engine, which is standard in all models. This new VQ powerplant is similar in configuration to the VG-series it replaces: Both are 3.0-liter 24-valve DOHC 60-degree sixes. But that's where the parallels end. The revolutionary VQ is smaller, lighter, cleaner, cheaper to build, and easier to maintain. It also makes more power and torque yet delivers better fuel economy."

Yeah, but they also wrote somewhere some "facts" like nobody will get to the moon, and that the world was flat. Go figure.

Not mine, but I'm workin' on it. I'll do whatever Rosenken says - if he tells me our cars run better on a mixture of sauerkraut and relish you can bet I'll be fueling up at the hotdog stand
