Got a New Transmission @ 9000 Miles. And its a 2K2!
Well, for all those that read my last post about the transfer casing being cracked, and the ongoing struggles, here is the result;
They called me at work and "found" my car, after losing it last night when I went to pick it up. They did a whole workover and said they finally found the tiny fracture I was talking about. They considered it a factory flaw and ordered my a whole new tranny since the whole thiong has to be replaced because Nissan doesnt make just spare parts for the casing. So, im going back in in about a week to have it done and they said it would take about 2 days to get it done, and theyre giving me a loaner for free while its being worked on. And the kicker, its all under warranty, as it should be. But I was in awe of how willingly they are replacing it under warranty.
LoL, "thank you, drive through!"
Ill keep yaz updated.

The scary thing would have been if you didn't have the warranty. Then you would have paid all that money for something that came screwed up from the factory

Sorry to hear the bad news. What do you mean they "found" your car, was it stolen? Best of luck on your new tranny.

And just to clear up any confusion, I knew something was wrong with my car and after putting it up on a lift monday night I found the fracture. Well, the Nissan tech said there was no fracture and he couldnt find the source of the leak. Well, since I know the service manager personally, he said he didnt like the tech's explanations of not being able to find the source of the leak. He sent him back in today to find it and lo and behold he did and that resulted in them getting me a new tranny. When they called me yesterday and said they didnt find any problems even though I knew there was one, I was at the point to say the hell with it and drive the damn thing until the transmission blew up and then they would have nothing to say and theyd be paying for my new transmission. But it all worked out for the best... at least so far......

Well this is a Ford/Nissan dealership. But Im pretty liked around the place and have a lot of friends I used to work with still there. Theyll hook me up, hopefully with one of the 3 used maximas they have on the lot.

lol j/k good luck man....hope you get something better than me
Well my 2k2 maxima has 7,000 miles on it and I have already needed a new transmission. I was promised the car back in a couple of days and that turned into weeks. My car has been there since the begining of the month and the service advisor said that if im "lucky" it will be done by the end of next week. He said I should really get it back after the thanksgiving weekend. I think thats pretty crazy, I stopped by the dealership to see the car, and its got this long rod just holding the engine up. Its a pretty sad sight. I wonder why its taking longer than expected to get done? oh well. Hopefully they will have yours finished in the time given to you. At least they gave me a loaner car.
good and bad
I'm glad to hear that Nissan recognized that the issue wasn't yours. Sorry to hear others are having the same problem. I chose a MT because my 1st car had an auto and even though I babied it, I was taken to the cleaners (not a Nissan though, a GM). My 2nd car, a 89SE was superb. I have been mostly happy with my 02 but this really renews my faith in Nissan. I'm hoping 00Semaxi has good luck.

I think my tranny is fine, but clutch needs to be replaced, because it is making thah whinning noise. I have the TSB for it, need to bring it and have them do it.
People, that had this TSB for clutch done, how are the results? I just don't want them to mess up my tranny even more.
My cousin has a PF (3.5 VQ as well) and it had a casting flaw in the block!
get this, they tried to deny her warranty because she bought the car used
of some such crap. But when you're looking at a $6000 bill on a 1yr old car, thats when you call a lawyer. She finally got them to replace it.

Where's the engine core from the PF? I'm dying to get my hands on a VQ35 crank & rods! Need to find a donor for the VQ33DE!
