I have a 91 gold GXE and a set of 18" radius rims that are the 5 lug bolt pattern. I was wondering. If anyone has heard of using wheel adapters and the adapters shearing off and the wheel falling off. I got these rims from a friend and they were on a 91 s-10 chevy 2-wheel drive truck. When we tried to put them on they bolt pattern was off by about 1/18" and I was told to get adapters.

Question: Do I need adapters to change the overall bolt pattern or would spacers do the job?

Every where I went (rim store) they would not take the liability for them. If there is anyone out there that could shed some light on the subject please let me know. I have been on the internet and found places that custom make billet adapters that will fit any bolt pattern. I have had these rims for about 4 months and they are just sitting in the living room in my apartment when they should be on my car.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If the bolt pattern is off then spacers won't do the trick b/c they don't change the bolt pattern. I don't know enough about adapters to help you there.

my gf told me you were on the org...welcome. I go to kstate too, and believe me, there isn't anyway to get any serious work done in this place.Your best bet is to go to KC(talk to the guys from the kcmaximas) and they'll be able to help you out with installing mods and all that. Concerning the bolt patterns, i'm not sure there is an adapter to do the trick you're talking bout. Pm me or sumpth. There's another guy on the org that goes to kstate...his name's evan.

They might be able to change your bolt pattern, but most likely the spacer will have to be over 27mm wide, so depending on the original offset you might have some real rubbing problems.
