Words of wisdom: Engine install

Lately I've been having probems with my car. At first it was my 3 month old rebuilt transmission: remaned torque convertor went bad. Two days after having the torque convertor replaced, i was driving down the road and the car shook sooo bad, i thought the car was going to crap out. I took it back thinking it was the transmission again, and really ****ed off and the shop. Found out later that day that my number 4 cylinder has almost no compression at all. They were like, it would be cheaper to rebuild the entire engine, of course. So, after 190K, i'm getting a replacement VE for my dad, who works at Nissan in TN and my uncle who is a mechanic with a shop, to drop over x-mas.

Anything that they should be aware of? They have three weeks to do it before i have to drive back to florida for school. Words of wisdom or encouragement from anyone who's done this before????? I'm skeered, but excited, kinda...

You might wanna have them replace your exhaust manifold bolts while everything's out. You'll thank me for that advice later, believe me... And maybe even see if they'll do your motor mounts, too. Just for good measure.

Definately do the studs and the motor mounts. It would be a huge mistake not to. Replace all the hoses, T-stat, and belts too.

nobody makes motor mounts. buy a set from a junkyard and fill them with urethane and have them put those in when they replace the engine.
