I purchased the CAI from PR because Cattman was on back order. Here's the problem:

1) The 95-99 template provided has two small holes that are supposed to match the battery tray holes, but they don't!! And the hole for the actually cutting seems a little big, about 4.5 inches rather than 3. Did you guys have the same problem with the template?

2) Anyway, I matched one of those small holes and cut a hole that's as big as on the template at the place that seemed right. But I tried as hard as I could, the lower pipe just won't fit so that the filter can be installed.
Is the filter supposed to face down or paralle to the ground?

I'm really pissed right now because I cut a big, ugly hole on my car and still could not install the CAI. Here goes my resale value.

Any help would be helpful and greatly appreciated!!

first of all .. relax

now.. the CAI install can be a pain sometime .. fitting the bottom pipe can be a little tricky and it may take some moving around to get it to fit snug..

have you looked at pics of it ..

check out this site..
http://integra.vtec.net/geeser/megamax/
It's Jeff K site . .he's got lots of pics .. they should help

also check out doug's site
maximanorth.homestead.com

the bottom part of the filter should be parallel to the ground .. so the cone is upright..

the hole should be from 3-3.5 inches..
4.5 is big but it's ok.. put extra protection around it to keep the CAI tubing snug..
no i didn't have the same problem with the template.. mine holes lined up ..

maybe you cut the hole too close to the wheel well and the filter is hitting the wheel well cover.. that may be a problem ..
