Bose Speaker Problems/Questions

I decided to put a 98 Bose headunit into my 91 SE. No problem there, I got a couple of harnesses at Best Buy and the headunit fit into car perfectly. My problem is with the speakers. When I hooked everything up, I discovered that the back 6x9s rattled really bad when I cranked up the volume. The 91 has been sitting for over a year and I think that the speakers are just old and brittle. The guy that sent me 98 Hu also sent me the 2 front 6" speakers and amps from his 98 SE. The problem is that the old 91 speaker/amp has a 4 prong plug while the 98 has a 6 prong plug. What are the extra 2 wires? I thought that the 4 91 wires where +12v,Gnd,Spkr+ and Spkr-. What was added on the 98? I noticed that on the 98 2 wires come off the amp to each of the 2 speaker plugs. Does anybody know what's going on? I was thinking of trying to replace the 2 rear 6x9 speakers with the newer 6" but i'm a little worried about those extra 2 wires. Has anyone out there put 4th Gen Bose speakers in a 3rd GEN?

Thanks,

Bobby
