According to TEIN...

The TEIN Springs have a spring rate of 201 lbs in the front and a rate of 268 lbs in the rear. Comparing these with Eibach Springs... Eibach has a rate of 188 lbs in the front and 346 lbs in the rear.

The TEIN Springs are also a 2.2 inch drop in the front and a 1.6 inch drop in the rear. Eibach Springs have a 1.3 inch drop in the front and a 1.0 inch drop in the rear. H&R Springs have a 1.4 inch drop in the front and a 1.3 inch drop in the rear. Progressive Springs have a 1.7 inch drop in the front and a 1.5 inch drop in the rear.

im not too sure how spring rates work...does that make it more stiff or less stiff? and an simple xplanation of why that works that way would help to lucidate

The higher the spring rate # the stiifer the ride = better handling around turns

The lower the spring rate # the softer the ride = more comfort but less handling around turns

I don't know to much about the low drop, but i had a Civic Si slammed and rode on it for about 1 year with minimual problems. This won't hurt a bit...

Does Tein offer or recommend what kind of aftermarket struts to be used with these springs? Anyone have a pic of what the drop looks like on a 2002-2003 maxima?

TEIN would recommend their own Coilover System, the "TEIN Driving Master - Super Street Dampers", for the Maxima but I'm sure no one wants to pay $1,250.00 for the coilovers and shocks. Again, these sprngs aren't even out yet in the US and they should be reaching CA in a couple of weeks. If I were to get these Springs I would put them on with the KYB/AGX's but that's just my opinion.

How about getting a TEIN coilover GD instead.

The springs will hit the U.S. before the coilovers. When the coilovers are almost here I'll make a GD for them.

Then maybe I should wait for them. Since I live where it snows and I do want to be able to raise and lower the car. I would say cancel this one if you don't get enough people and then set up the GD on the coilovers just my opinion since there is only two of us on the list so far.

Max drop for the coilovers are 3.1" in the front and 2.7" in the rear. The max height of the coilovers are -1.5" in the front and you can raise the rear 0.8".

Ok but would you be willing to stop this GD and wait for the coilovers instead since you only got to people on the deal. It's up to you but if I could get coilovers instead I would rather wait.

MaxTuner... I dunno if they will make a 5k spring rate for the rear but if they will I don't see a problem in you getting it

Myownnismo... The GD price for the TEIN coilovers will be AROUND $1,090.00 + shipping.

chi02max... You in for the springs or coilovers?

2k2PhatMax... The spring haven't reached the U.S. yet.
