FM Modulator are known to have bad quality, your best bet would be an after market HU with an AUX input!

I read somewhere that if you install an inline filter in between the stereo and antenna, that it should eliminate the humm...anyone try this?
Interference Filter - Inline filter helps eliminate interference on TV and FM signals caused by CB radios, electric motors and more. Inline Hi-Pass Filter Passes signals from 54-900 Mhz, which includes UHF/VHF & FM signals while rejecting others.
