My friend want to race with my maxima in a quater mile. He went to see the race several time, and he said Nissan Maxima is slowest like **s. However, he just has a Honda Accord 2 door(stock) with 19' rims. My car has Stillen intake, Cattman Y-pipe, Stillen b-pipe, and stillen muffler with 18 ' rims, but my car is automatic. I am thinking to take out all my seats , sparetire, changing to stock rims or anything that I can reduce my car weight. Do you think I can win 19' rims Stock automatic Accord in a quarter miles ? I 'll let you know when I completly shut his big smelly mouth................ Can't wait

 

you're kidding right? you would rape him if you were completely stock and had a 500lb woman in your trunk.

you got it in the bag - but make yourself as light as possible so you can really smoke him!......make sure you heat up the tires so you get a nice launch

This is at least a V6 Accord, right? The 98-02 and not the new 03, correct?

Those things barely move even with the OEM 16" rims much less freakin 19" rims. They bog like mad and just don't have the torque to turn larger rims. I think he would be very lucky if he got better than a 16.5 at the track. You should easily be able to smoke him

Let him get a 20ft head start. That way, the race will be more exciting; and when you still smoke him, he'll really be hating life.

 

Kind of funny that an Accord guy called a Maxima slow. Stock vs. stock you still would edge the Accord out, if it's the V6 one. If it's the 4 cyl one, hahaha....no contest. With you mods vs a stock Accord(V6 or otherwise)you will kill him. Just don't mess with the new '03 Accords though.

 

I'll race with him tomorrow.......... He said "he is going to smoke me with his V6 Vtec engine".......... I keep my mouth shut, and think he is just a big mouth and try to show off his 2002 accord ............. I am going to ask him to put like $ 500 for a race..........I think I 'll beat his *** and get his money to do another mod.......

When you think VTEC, you think a 4-banger that has the power of a 6 up top. Or a 6 that has the power of an 8. Little does he know that that engine is an ECONOMY version of VTEC that gives that V6 the performance of only a 4-cylinder down low, and then only "normal" V6 power up top.

I would know because I used to own the same car.

Ex = 2001 Accord V6 Sedan (totalled), and hence the VTEC suffix in my username, which I've never bothered to change.

All this and you're lighter than him, and have mods, and have smaller wheels. Total, complete, 0wNage is on the way =)

 

you will eat him alive.
the rims will slow him down considerably.
changing back to stock rims will definitely improve your times, unless they have big traction issues.

 

So how did the race go? If you haven't raced yet, I would bet something a little smaller, like $50. This would probably make him think that you are not sure about the race......THEN SMOKE HIS *** and take $50.

I did this to a friend once. No money was involved because I truely did not want to take his money, but he kept wanting to place a bet. We finally agreed to run without any money. The whole time I let him lead....then I smoked him pretty bad! The conversation after the race was very awkward for him .

 

As an owner of a 4 cylinder Accord (hence my username), I can say without a doubt that running the 1/4 mile is NOT the Accord's forte. And to even make it somewhat competetive, it would need a boatload of mods; and we're talking...just to make it run upper 15s consistently. When my Accord was stock, I saw the backend of most Maximas (not to mention Luminas and some Tauruses) quite often.

Bottomline: wager him for easy money.

This guy shold win cuz he has MODS, some of ya praise him like he would even beat the accord soo badly, if he remained stock? I think not. He would actually have to try and beat him, or even jus barely tie him or edge him out...

 

Good job!! The Accord V6 Auto and the VQ auto run very similar times. Stock for stock, it will be a very close race. My brother's V6 Accord runs 15.9's stock. A VQ auto runs about the same. The Maxima will win just b/c it is modded.

 

I have no idea where you get your times, but they are way off. This guy has a 2k1 Auto Max with alot of aftermarket parts which will do the 1/4 in the mid - high 14's easily. A 2k2 Accord V6 does it in 15.9. You would have to be an idiot to lose. I've raced many of these cars that were obviously pimped out with exhaust and such and I've been able to toy with them. The new Accord is a different beast altogether. It would be close.
