firing order on 3rd gen 93 GXE

i was wondering what the cylinder firing order is on a 93 GXE...

e.g. 1,2,3,4,5,6 ?

or is it something different?

i know my injector 6 is busted and i get hesitation on takeoff. but once it trips into 2nd gear it goes away only to come back when i come to a stop and takeoff again.

is cylinder 6 essential to takeoff to cause this problem? and does the car depend less on injector 6 at higher rpms?

let me know if possible....

thanks again

yup.. 1-2-3-4-5-6
ain't that neato?

are you sure it's the injector that's messed up, and ont a vacuum leak or spark plug fouling?

usually when they work at higher rpm or at open throttle conditions, that's more a vacuum problem since there's too much air in the cylinder to burn with the fuel. open the throttle and the vacuum goes down, thus the leak "goes away" and the proper amount of fuel/air goes into the cylinder and it burns correctly.

matt93 u depressed me there

i thought i was right on to change the injector. i know the injector is definitely bad, but now u r tellin me that i may also have a vacuum leak....snaps!

now...i was searchin about vacuum leaks a while back and i never saw a definitive method of checkin for vacuum leaks...can u maybe point me in the right direction?

it idles rough on standstill...and when i mash down it seems to be restrained until it just jumps out and goes normal after the second gear kicks in...seems like it was tryin its best not to go into 2nd, but when it does it likes it

i want to try the vacuum leak test...makes sense as u put it.

also...

how do u reset the idle as per factory recommendations?

i have seem like 4 different methods suggested on this board. which one is the correct way?

the correct way is the one listed in the FSM..

checking for vacuum leaks isn't exactly easy..
only way I know of doing it is to pull a vacuum on the engine through the TB and see if it slowly dissappears.

the other way would be to do a compression check with the throttle open (as you should do to get correct readings), then do another with the throttle closed..

if one cylinder has a noticeably higher pressure than the others with the throttle closed, and it's NOT higher when the throttle is open, then there's a sign that it's got a vacuum leak.

not a very good way to test, but that's about all you can really do without proper diagnostic tools or taking it to a dealer.

Also... what exactly is wrong with the injectors? is it dirty/clogged, or does it not work at all or what? if it's dirty and not spitting out the correct spray pattern, it can cause similar results because the fuel isn't atomizing correctly. under higher throttle, there's more airflow and turbulence to cause the fuel to break up and atomize into the air and it'll run better.

the injector by my account is not functioning at all.

i did the resistance test and got the default "1" reading. all other injectors gave me between "13-14 ohms".

no change in engine idle when i pull the boot from that particular cylinder. that also points to that injector being gone.

however, my hesitation problem on takeoff is pretty inconsistent which leads me to think i may have another problem in there.

it ****es me off so much, cause i am not sure if i am going to get the power when i mash down or not.

i have changed the following:

1. MAF
2. Fuel filter
3. Cleaned throttle body and IACV
4. Air filter
5. Spark Plugs (OEM)

i am due to change the injector HOPING it resolves the issue, but judging by its inconsistency it may not.

could the injector have varyin resistance?? meanin it works sometimes and dies on other times?
