1st trip to the track

I took my new 2K2 SE 6 speed to an 1/8 mile track today and was very pleased with the results. I ran a 9.37 @ 75.7MPH with a 2.137 60 ft. I have a HLSD but still sliped the tires on every run. How does this compare. I have no mods the car is bone stock.

A 2.137 60' is awesome for stock tires. Your MPH is on par with a normal 6spd maxima. If that was a 1/4 mile you would probably be in the 14.3 second range @ 95 MPH.

That's a very good 60'. The HLSD will do very little for you off the line. It's really more for going around turns. A 9.37@76mph is good for ~14.4-14.6@95-96mph. Not bad at all.

Do you think his MPH are a little low? With a awesome 60' like that I was figuring maybe he would be closer to a 14.3

i was not shifting very hard, being my first time out and all. I honestly think i could have gotten in to the 9.20's if had speed shifted, slamed gears or whatever you call it and could have gottin to hook good.

I also think the mph is a little low for the 60'. I guess shifting slow looses a few mph b/c i trapped 78 with similar times and 60's 9.30-9.34 w/ 2.13-2.16 60's

His trap speed is not terribly low. I typically get 76-77mph traps in my 4th gen, but it seems like more often than not the 2k2 5th gen really starts to haul after the first 1/8 mile, especially your 2k2. It is very possible he might be able to get 14.2-14.3s with his higher 9.3 1/8 mile. I was just playing the averages from what I see most 4th and 5th gens that get 9.3-9.4 1/8 miles.

Since when does MPH have anything to do with 60' time? You can't judge a trap speed from someone's 60'.

Anyhow, that's a great run and a great 60' time, amazing in light of the fact it was your first time at the track. Get to a 1/4 mile track and get a little more experience and you may find yourself the quickest stock 2k2 6spd.
