Which SPRINGS w/STOCK struts/shocks?
how come you didn't include Eibachs?
i had Eibachs with stock struts/shocks for a while. i hated it.
i don't think u should even think about doing this set-up(with any springs) unless ur car was brand-spanking new!

Why not? I bought an extra set of shocks/struts(Nissan OEM Tokicos) and put less than 10K miles(95+% hwy) per year on my car.
I'm waiting for KYB AGXs to come out next year. If not, Progress or Tein coilovers. Otherwise, Koni inserts. I just need something NOW for a temporary solution.
Is the ride that horrible? Or are you just saying that, because the stockers will die fast?

not only that, why would u want to pay labor twice for what is pretty much identical install? plus, it's going to ride like hell anywayz..i always tell people to wait and save up for the shocks and get it installed at the same time. most times will charge you the same labor for it too.

Can you describe what you hated with your ride on Eibachs/Stock?

No cost, since I'm doing it myself. I actually enjoy this kind of stuff, it's my stress reliever. As long as it lasts for 8-10K miles, which I've heard is not uncommon with H&Rs, but not with Eibachs.

it rode ok as long as the stock shocks lasted. but once the shocks start yelling 'i quit!', you better hold on to your steering real tight when you hit a dip or a bump while ur turning or going fast.

from a dynamics standpoint...adding aftermarket springs to stock struts isnt a good idea.
the new springs have a larger spring coefficient than the damper is designed for. thats why you bounce on dips and bumps. the new springs will help in cornering on good road because they are just resisting motion, nothing to dampen. the stock struts just dont provide enough dampening to retard the bouncing of the springs.
just my thoughts...

My only choice is 4th gen. Koni inserts for the FRONT shocks and 4th gen AGXs for the REAR struts, which NOBODY has tried yet. I don't think I'm up for being the guniea pig on this one.
...I have had H&R's on my stock shocks/struts of my 2002 SE for almost a year, about 15,000 miles. It was new when I put em on, and they are great. I will eventually put Toks on with my H&R's, but I have no complaints. Of course, I also have the RSB and FSTB so mine feels very tied down in the twisties...

I thank you for your comments, especially since the 2002 Maximas supposedly have softer struts than my 2001, so I should last at least that long. I'm really leaning towards the H&Rs again vs. Maxspeeds/Progress/Sprints, since I'm going to be running stock struts/shocks. Otherwise, probably the Progress or Maxspeeds.
Now I just have to find a cheap price on H&Rs!
Ive had my Eibachs on for 1 year now and 20k on the stock shocks. The ride is a little firm, but its ok with me. I am going to replace the rear shocks soon with KYB AGX's because passangers complain it is bumpy back there.

We need someone to be a guniea pig for the Koni inserts in Front and the KYB AGXs in the Rear.

My car rides about the same as my mom's 330i with the sport package.
