Thinking of switching over to Intrax

Right now Ive got the Eibachs and I cant really complain except everyone asks when am I going to lower my car
so after looking at some pics I think that .5 inch goes a long way, right now Ive got 17" and as soon as the cash flow increases after I get the new motor Im gonna get 19"s.
right now Ive got 235/45/17 and with the 19's Id get 225/35/19

heres the thing: right now when I have people in the back and the weight shifts to the rear drivers side the tire rubs on the inside of the wheel well, only this one side, (been happening since I got the car with the stock wheels and suspension) I thought that I fixed the problem when I got it painted because I bent the metal lip inside the wheel well up with a hammer, but It only helped a little bit now it sitll happens. so what I dont want is to have it rubbing all the time if I decide to go lower, but will going from 235 to 225 sorta even out the change?

what offset are you rims and how wide are they?

i hope ride quality isn't one of your factors because I can vouch for the swap and the pros and cons

I do like the ride quality, but I am willing to sacrafice it as long as it isnt horrible.

my friend had Eibachs and tokico's on his 93 Altima and the drop was okay and he has 17" rims with 225/45 rubber, then he decided he wanted it lower. 2 weeks later he got intrax springs, the car went a bit lower and the ride got a bit stiffer. Now he wasn't happy with the drop so he bought Sprint Springs and the car dropped to his liking but he told me "when I hit a pothole, it feels like the end of the world". So I guess intrax is the best bet to keep ride comfort and have a nice stance. Good luck with your decision

i wouldn't say you'll be keeping "ride comfort" w/ intrax...it's a noticeable difference ESPECIALLY when making the rim size change...

mmmm chrome 19's intax springs i think it shouldnt give up too much ride quality even if it di the appearence factor would be well worth it. you could go with b+g springs about a 1.6inch drop kinda in between eibach and intax im going to install them when spring comes around. btw n34 check your pm's

Ive got Intrax springs with KYB GR2 struts and i like the ride. sometimes it gets bouncy but its a stiff bounce. I dont know what Eibach feels like but i had Intax with stock struts and it was way too bounce then i decided with KYB over Tockico (dont know why, maybe it was price ) but i like the set up. I have 16" rims with 225/50 tires and i rub but thats because my offset is wrong . But im getting 18" for xmas with 225/40/18 tires and a correct offset for our cars. Should be nice but we'll see!

I love the Black Ice finish. They look so crazy at night when light hits them. Not to mension you can rock with them even when they are dirty!! Going with the RT Furys I assume!?

how bout 18s?

i think i may go the eibach/tokico route when im ready to do suspension; from what i hear its a reliable and decent setup with a slight drop and excellent ride. This is what i want, nothing too extreme, no "slammed" look no hard ride etc. Just less body roll and less of that "mushy" feeling when turning, i wanna feel like i wont tip over when taking a turn ...and a slight lowering. ..eibach folks just reassure me here if im wrong

Ill be staying on my 99 rims for awhile when i do the suspension until i have money to get Millie Evo5's or something; no im not jumping on the rota sub-zero bandwagon

Rota sub-zero's are nice but the Mille Evo5's are nice also, funny I am debating between those two rims myself. I hope to get them when I get my body kit installed in the spring time. 3rd gens will own DPA in the spring

If that's what you want then eibach is the way to go...

Intrax on the otherhand is a much stiffer ride. I mean i had people sit on the front end and the height didn't budge. Anwyay w/ the 16's on it wasn't too bad b/c of the amount of rubber I was running. It was noticeably stiffer. Once the 18's got put on forget about it. Bumps are hell and trust me I can feel EVERY nook and cranny in the road now. For me it was worth it because of the show aspect but if my car was strictly for driving then I would have stuck w/ the Eibach in a heartbeat. For that slight drop and EXCELLENT handling nothing will beat the Eibach.

I can't totally vouch for sprints but in talking w/ Klownpr and a few others those guys aren't happy w/ the levelness of the ride height.

Re: Thinking of switching over to Intrax

How about everyday ground clearance with your front Stillen piece. As you're aware, with your Eibachs and the front piece (at least my Eibachs and front piece) you have just enough clearnace for most streets/driveways/parking stalls without rubbing. Just like yourself, I'm also going lower but with Sprints and for different reasons. Since moving back to Fla the roads out here are so flat it's disgusting, when compared to the hills and curvy roads in north Cali. But if you want to ride inches of the ground this is were you need to be Just the other day I was trying to get one of those mini floor jacks under the FSB's and I couldn't due to the side piece, had to break out the OEM scissor jack to raise the car a little before the floor jack could fit.

If you are having problems with jack points, I've read that driving up on woodblocks gives you easy access without worrying about breaking the side skirts.

I guess there are some benefits to living in TX. I'm just glad I wont have to worry about a full kit in the winter ( no snow here)

I was planning on breaking out the circular saw and making a nice "drive on riser" out of wood. This is nice when you're at home and planning repairs but out on the streets the scissor jack works fine.

I use a set of Plastic ramps if i need to get my car up for oil changes etc... It just makes the clearance even with a stock bumper.

I was running the Eiback and KYB GR2 set up on 18
inch rims. Hitting even the slightest bump in the road felt like suspension death. 6 months later I realized it was. Both control arms history and Upper and lower tie rods need to be replaced. But at least the car looks good. LOL

I told him to get it fixed, but nooo!! He would rather just buy some new tires and run the crap out of them!! J/K Hello bruder!!

N34JZ, your car looks just like all the other cars I have seen with Eibachs, except my bruder's, his car looks like it gat a 2.5 inch drop. I wonder why??

Maybe, a jacked up front suspension??!!

Yeah, I have seen your pics your car is simply inspiring. I cannot wait to resume moding this summer. I was actually thinking about stopping until you released your Red Beast. Has it made Max of the month yet? If not you have my vote.

Let me know who you are going to get to do your interior. Mine is a disaster and for me it will be more of a necessity as opposed to a Mod.
