Opinions on selling "Maxine"

Ok guys this is not another I hate my max thread. There is a guy at work willing to buy my max for his wife at 24K without any mods. So I figure why not get almost all my money back and buy a basic 2k or 2k1 SE and mod the sh$t out of it and save 7-8 grand. Plus all my current mods should fit just fine on another 5gen. Let me know what you think.

Anniversary Edition

Yea, I was thinking that if I pull this off I'll find me a Anv. Edition with low miles and buy that.

looks like u want to rip the guy off. 24K for a used 2k2 is not worth it (for him)

Be a good guy and tell him to buy new 2003 for that price.

Ya know, I understand where you're coming from by being honest, but if someone offered me $24K for my Max, I'd more than likely take it and run. Not that I don't like it, but it would be one of those one time opportunties where someone here would actually be able to get a really good resale value on their max.

Tmiller, if you don't want to sell your max, tell that I guy I'll sell him mine!

Also, that guy might be offering you that money for the piece of mind. He knows you, he knows how you take care of the car, and he knows where you've been with it, so he might be offering a lot because of that. Still a little on the high side for an offer, but hey, if he's willing to pay it, why not be willing to take it?

WHY

Hey guys I would never do something that I thought was not right. I am the guy at work that everyone waits to buy stuff from.We have been talking this over for a while now and he says that the best deal he has been able to get so far is 23,500.00 for a 2k2 with 12000 miles on it. The asking price here for a loaded GLE like mine is about 30k. Mine has 7300 miles on it with 2 synthetic oil changes done already, upgraded wooddash and all the options a GLE has. The one he is looking at did not. So I figure I would sell him mine for 24k and buy another one. He would also be able to pay a lot less taxes when his bill of sell shows that he bought it for my payoff of 18k.

I don't see anything wrong as long as both the buyer and the seller are happy with the price.

Keep in mind that if you go for a 2k-2k1 maxima it will have the 3.0L engine over the 3.5L engine, meaning that it will be slower. And if you ask asu174 I'm sure he'll tell you how frustrating it is to pour so much money into a car, and not have it be able to beat a 2k2 or 2k3 stock max.
