Good deal on this Maxima??

I've been wanting a fourth gen 5 speed for a while and this happened to run across my path. What do you guys think? I like the color, and it's not far from my house. 1995 Maxima 5 Speed

Thanks for your opinions guys and gals!

Sure it's a GXE? It has body colored door handles and a spoiler. Check the model information on the VIN plate
From FAQ...
The first five characters are BLHUL. The sixth character is the trim level designator, defined as follows:
E = GXE
G = GLE
V = SE

oh, and can you delete your duplicate posts..

$6950 for a 95 with 113K miles?? And it already has a factory moonroof and Bose. Not bad at all. Maybe talk them down to $6500. Also, double check your info on that car. They call it a GXE but I'm pretty sure it's an SE. The body color door handles give it away. Since it's a 1st year 4th gen, check any issues with the timing belt. I've seen several threads on here mentioning how the timing chain tensioner needs replacement on those VQs. To test, start the car and let iit idle. With all the windows closed, radio off etc. Listen to the motor, if the you here some sort of thumping etc, then it probably has the problem. It's fixable, but just keep that in mind.

Ok, thanks guys, plus, I don't know of any fourth gens on here that have a max that color. If I get it, the pin stripes are gonna go, but the color is sweet! BTW, when I try to delete the other 2 posts, it comes up as file 404 not found. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

not really

I paid less than that for my 97 SE 5 speed.
Not saying that this is standard of what a good deal is.. just mean it's more than possible to find that car cheaper

That car is worth 4.5-6k

I'd really look around for better deals.. there are plenty out there.. just hold out a little bit..

Well, I've been looking for over a month and can't find one that I like, and this one I do. I figured I should probably jump on it while it lasts. Also, I can look at it and test drive it, if I find it's not worth it, oh well, just wasted a little time and money, no big deal.

The price is fair. Your not getting ripped off. However, as stated above, you can certainly find a better deal.

Thats a fair price. A private owner was asking $6900 for my baby. I got her for $6500. She had 102k miles, SE, Black, Loaded.... well here, look below

BTW mine used to look exactly like the one for sale.

actually mine has chrome handles and window trim - it just doesn't show very well in the photo... But from a side view, like the photo in the autotrader, you can definitely see the chrome.

Ah, OK. That's the only thing I'd change on a GXE/GLE, those chrome door handles.

I'll make sure to do that. Also, anyone here with a LSD trans in a fourth gen? How can I tell, besides checking to see if I leave 2 black marks. I know on the 3rd gens, there's a metal plate on the firewall stating whether or not it has an AT, MT or MT w/ LSD. Thanks for all the help guys! Keep it up!

jesus, drop it like its hot!

7,000 dollars for a 95 maxima with over 100,000 miles?! HIGHWAY ROBBERY!! check the price of that car on kbb.com and laugh at them. I woudln't pay more than 5500 for a 95 maxima with over 100,000 miles and stock....

i got my new car for a little more than that and its a modded 97 SE, fully loaded. F the dealerships and go find an old man with a maxima he needs to sell...or better yet, Pearl96max in Edison New jersey knows an old man selling his blue maxima 5 speed, 95 for like 6,000. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GET THIS CAR FOR 7,000 dollars!!!!!

Well, I figure that I can get them a little bit lower, like 6300 cash. What do you guys think about that, would that be a better deal?
