Why is this, i know people dont dig the 1st gen i get it, its kinda too long in the front and to short in the back, thats what makes it uneven to give a good flow ( visually ), and when you lower it doesnt look good... the rim choices these guys make it does work... honesly google any maxima and its maybe around 20 that is well done... quite nerve racking .. Maybe i am emotional

Do you have a 1st gen? In all honesty, the 1st gen did nothing for me when it was introduced. I was in my early 20s (21 to 24) when it came out in '81. The 2nd gen? Absolutely floored me! A buddy at work bought a new '86 5-speed, I drove it, loved it, the next year I bought a new charcoal gray '87 SE.

Yes i have the first gen and i like it cause its odd and unique , but it isnt portioned right...the rear is too short, now the aussie version the 910 bluebird they call its a tad better, but ( empty ) I do adore the the 2nd gen i am right with you on that........yes i can dishonor a car that i am building and love it, somewhat like marriage

LOL!! Know what you mean!
The 1st gen was definitely (IMO) the bridge between the butt ugly 810 (once again, IMO) and the 2nd gen. The 1st gen got the 810's weird curves squared up, as well as some significant improvements in the interior. Since Nissan could use the existing 280 straight 6 motor, it probably was an interim "fix" while the VG30 development got squared away, as well as the redesign which turned into the 2nd gen.
Mine was a charcoal gray SE auto, a demo with 6K miles on it. Gorgeous car, bought it on a Saturday, when I drove to work on Monday, a LOT of people stopped to check it out. Even my 318i and 325i buddies...

tail dragging started with 4th gens out of personal opinion, 2nd and 3rd gens held their game for the luxury sport market over other makes. only failing was moving to FWD.
