Gran Turismo 3, in justice to maxima owners

I was recently playing Gran Turismo 3 and was very dissapointed that the Maxima wasnt included for whatever reason. Explain to me this...a PT cruiser is the only car Plymouth/Chrysler has and it doesnt come close to a 2002 max, i feel we fellow maxima owners should unite and try and put the maxima in the next version of the game

The Maxima is a boring family sedan. Why put a boring family sedan in a GT game.

hehe

It's really not up to the game vendors, though. It's more about marketing, and if you want to put somebody's car in your game, you actually need to talk to the manufacturers marketing department to obtain a LICENSE to put the car in the game. Otherwise you could get sued. If you noticed, there are hardly *ANY* Porsche's in GT3. There's like one RUF and that's it. The reason is because another game vendor already has an exclusive marketing arrangement with Porsche so that only they have their cars in their games and nobody else can. I think it's the Need for Speed games, whoever writes those...

I was too, but then again they didn't include ferrari, or lambo's either. True they're overplayed, but I still like to beat em with my skyline

The 4 door accord is in gt3, you hear me the 4 door accord... Now if thats no a borning family sedan what is? But to everything else you said you were absolutely correct. FYI the maxima could beat a large majority of the cars in that game stock from the numbers i got.

Back when GT3 came out there was only the wimpy VQ30DE-K, not the VQ35....

Besides, the F1 cars are the only ones worth driving.

i'm guessing in the next version they might have the 350z and they would probably pick the altima over the maxima if they were to add one. maybe they'll do both. have you ever raced with the mini in stock form? it takes forever for that thing to get up to 90mph!!

There is no Maxima because there is already enough sporty Nissan's to fill the menu. What did GT3 have - 300ZX, 350Z, 240SX, 3 or 4 Silvias, R32 GT-R, R33 GT-R, R34 GT-R, R34 GT-R Vspec-II, R390... What's Honda got? S2000, Integra, NSX. That's it. They had to include the Accord and Civic, otherwise they wouldn't have had much. Not to mention Honda is just much more popular too.

And also lets not forget that it's a Japanese game. So there is no Maxima in their world, only Cefiro, which doesn't even have a MT option. And the only US cars the Japanese have probably even ever heard of are the ones that made it into the game, PT Cruiser, Viper, Corvette, Mustang. The Camaro and Neon were probably an after thought, or maybe GM and Dodge even paid them money to add them in there for publicity.

Be thankful that the Maxima is not on the game - if it was, everyone would be wanting one and it wouldn't be civics and accords that all the ricers would be buying - it'd be Maximas.

Project Gotham has quite a few Porche's in it.

And Sega GT 2002, also.

The reason the Maxima wasn't in any GT game is because Polyphony Digital did not get the license for that car.

If the Maxima is included it would be the Cerfio.

GT4 is suppose to feature online compatibilities and feature as many cars or more than GT2.

I would've accepted the Cefiro if not the Max. Anyhow, only a few cars in GT3 can dominate the competition (in the game) and the Maxima wouldn't be one of them. But, it would have been interesting to see what kind of virtual horsepower/performance could have been produced by the Max.

Sidenote: I am kinda miffed that Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero (TERZ) doesnt have a Cefiro/Maxima; TERZ has the one thing that GT3 doesnt have: Attitude!!

Peace.

There's a car on GT2 that has almost the same exact hp/torque curve and weighs about the same, and runs the 1000 ft in about 15., stock. it some Pegeot 3.0 some crap like that. And it's a coupe.

There's a 350Z in GT3, it's a concept car, but the only thing that I noticed different is the place of the exhaust.

I've got all gold on B, A, and IB. Forget it after that it becomes really hard. I haven't played that game such a long time. I made a website about the game a while back, hasn't been updated for a while.

No joke bro!! You guessed that right. Playing GT1,2 3 and Tokyo Extreme Race, he primed and ready race. He's definitely got the potential to cleanup on the autocross circuit.

And at 12 y/o, he knows more about import cars than most of the folks on this board (me included)!! He's already saving for a 1G SE-R to modify and race. AND, he repeatedly states that whatever car he gets and modifies, it'll be faster than my 2K2 Max. (Though I've blown him off on those statements, deep inside I actually believe him.)

Peace.

Just get Tom's Chaser. It has 4 doors and looks pretty similar to the max. When you race the rear end looks almost exactly like a 4th gen (95/96) with red/clears, and an aftermarket muffler. From the front it looks like a 2k2 because of the lights, ya imagination plays a small role but i have told some of my friends that it's a max and they all believed me. Best part is that you can squeeze over 800 ponies under the hood.

Does anyone else get the shakes sometimes because they want to drive or race real bad. Sometimes GT3 is my outlet, but their is an undeniable urge to take 'sweetness' out and drive her sometimes for no reason. It's like my after work, or school, relief. Some people come home and have a drink/smoke to mellow out after a long day, me I usually just want to race, then have a drink/J afterwards

You're thinking of the Peugeot 206 WRC. I4 TT, AWD. The 406 isn't a very good rally car.

why do we need our car to be in a video game? we are driving one real one already.....I say 2k2+ owners should join together to get that missing 15 hp back from nissan.

anyways....I am at 34% completion of the game. just started rally racing.
