go to a body shop. you need the piece to be professionally painted w/ the correct mix of flex agent. then you can fit it on to the car w/ the tape. you can u screws/clips to secure them better. but don't try to do this at paint deal at home...unless u have the proper equipment.

What is this flex agent you speak of? I have a guy who has painted his own car at our schools body shop, it looks good. He's painting mine for $50.00, and we're going to install it at my house with screws.

oh man..please tell me your guy knows what it is.
the body kit is made out of plastic..if you apply the paint w/o the flex agent to the body kit pieces then the second you tap something light the paint will crack. paint is not made to bend w/o this flex agent. if he's painting yours for $50 then i would be worried about his work...but to each his own. you spend all this cash on a kit and you decided to cheap the paint. paint and material is expensive..if you think he can do it as a favor and paint it for $50 then more power to u.
also according to auto gear in NJ the guy mentioned that you also need to bake the parts so the release agent would melt off prior to painting..also baking helps in molding the plastic around the edges of your car.
good luck.

be very careful.....

there are specific color codes if you want it to turn out right. plus I think the piece has to go through some "heating procedure" before it is painted. be careful, hope it turns out right!

he probably does, he works at a body shop. that's how he can get paint cheap. i'll ask him what you asked me, just to make sure. thanks though. btw, how much does it run about to get it done at a shop?

that's like saying i probably will get a good paint job.

i would say for a "cheap job" it should run you about $100-$150 or so. that's a very rough guess there.

DanNy's right don't try to do this on your own if you don't know what your doing. I recommend getting it done professionally. I'm not saying that your boy doesn't know what he's doing but he should know what a flex agent is. You will also have to rivet the side skits as well as the front piece. The back piece uses some double sided tape which is some BS if you ask me. I hade so many problems with the tape. One day I got fed up and put some liquid nails on it, I haven't had a problem since. Email me if you have any questions. OUT!!!
