G35 coupe exhaust, how do you make my maxima sound like that

My friend just bought a new G35 coupe..

And boy we revved it, and i love the exhaust note it had.. nice growl, but was not loud at all.. ITs like my exhaust with a hint of a nice growl..

How can i get this sound in my 2k2??

my guess would be buy a G35 muffler.
that gives off that certain sound level.

I think it would look pretty fugly or not even fit. The exhaust from the sedan is on the left, so it would have to go on upside-down or have the pipe cut and a new one made to fit....just my pennies.

I heard the G35 coupe exhaust today and it is kinda similar to the GReddy Evo.

Are both the left and right mufflers on the coupe the same? I remember driving behind one and the left one had something inside which made the diameter smaller...

Could have been a different car though...

I believe they are the same size. Was the size reducer within the tip portion of the muffler? If so, this reducer could possibly cause the "finger over the garden hose" effect and thus tune the sound of the exhuast.

You would have to trade in your Max for a G35.

Isn't the G35C a true dual exhaust or is there a H pipe? If you took one of the mufflers from a G35 you whould be taking power from your car because it won't have as much capicity as our stock one does.

The exhaust is not a true dual.

There are some pics G35 Coupe on page 3 and 4.

I don't know what your looking at. I don't mean to be an a$$ but look at the last pic on page 3 and the last pic on page 4. I see dual exhaust with no H-pipe.

By some of the other pics it looks like it might come both ways. But all of the pics aren't of coupes either

Based on what Infiniti has to say here G35C "Emissions system: Dual exhaust and three-way catalytic converter with closed loop feedback and variable flow rear muffler"

It looks like there might a muffler that will work but some of the pics I've seen are conflicting. The Cat sound interesting too...

G35 Coupe Exhaust

If you look at the stock pics, it is set up the same way. The balck plastic covers the muffler.

That pic is totally different than the pics in your earlier link. They don't look like the same car. *edit* Cuz the second one is an aftermarket muffler. My mistake.

Anyways, I doubt it's true duel exhaust. Not too many cars are anymore. Regardless, buy the muffler and weld you little heart out.

Won't work. The G35c muffler is a single-in, dual-out with a transverse setup just like Camaros/Firebirds. It won't work without ridiculous plumbing on a longitudal layout like the Maxima needs...you'd have the inlet going in sidways, with one outlet coming out towards the front of the car that you'd have to bend around and only one outlet pointing straight back like you want. It'd be a ridiculous setup on a Maxima.

Well that last pic on the 3rd page sure looks dual but it doesn't show the back 1/2.
But I still like the though of that main Cat, I just wonder if it flows better than some of other aftermarket ones and what the cost would be.

All mine are gone and all it is is loud. It sounds nothing like the G35 exhaust. The exhaust on that car sounds like no other exhaust I've ever heard. It doesnt even sound like a car, but I agree, it is awesome!

I wouldn't call that welding per se....but if they want to call melting and/or gluing two pieces of plastic together welding then hey it's welding!

ITs quite sweet, the nice slight growl without being intrusive at all..

Overall the car rides a lot harder (18" rims), but i love the note... I hated my old car's exhuast

2.25" SS pipe, Magnaflow resonator, magnaflow hiflo cat, and magnaflow dual DTM muffler on my protege

IT WAS DEEP BUT SO FREAKIN LOUD..

I am debating on whether i should remove the resonator on my car but leave every thing else stock..

have a muffler shop take your exhaust resonator(s) out. This is what I did on my old passat VR6 and it sounded realll nice, and not that loud at all.. just the nice growl sound when you get on it

Try good ole two part epoxy my friend! Like JB Weld...

I "welded" the radiator on my 1987 Honda Accord LXi, and it lasted another 2,000 miles before I had to replace the darn thing...but that was back in '94.
