Best Lights from Japan

Which is the best "HID" type replacement lights exclusively from Japan? Those that won't require me to upgrade my harness. Brand and model please.

Ideally I want both, for visability and looks but realistically, lets say slightly on the looks side, since over here we don't get harsh weather conditions.

Thanks in advance.

Do you want real HIDs or just bright regular bulbs? And why do they have to be exclusively from Japan?

I just want the bulbs since I don't want to spend the money on the upgrade.

Why from Japan? Well I heard Japan has some good bulbs and you could only get it from there and I'll be visiting there soon too so I thought I posed the question.

Thanks,

Re: Best Lights from Japan

You should pick up any type of LED bulbs, such as 1157 and stuff. You can make some money off them, and they look cool.

Yes, I too would like to know what bulb replacement would be brighter and whiter without spending the big bucks for harness replacements or HID's.

In my experience PIAA's tend to fuse after about a year, and they are pretty expensive too, so that sucks.

I have PIAA super whites in fogs (sweet) and headlights. I have had them about a year in a week or two. No problems with them yet but thanks for the warning.

I like the light they give off. Much whiter than stock and brighter too. However, they are pricy and whenever my brother in his Acura TL pulls up next to me, his HID's dwarf mine in brightness. Yet his are only bright in a certain area that they show on. I have more range so that I can see further on roads with rolling hills and curves. He always has to turn his brights on because his HID's only shine a certain amount in front of him. Good and bad of both sides.

Since Nissan calls for 55/60w bulbs, what happens when you put 80/100 bulbs in? Cuz I just bought some 80/100w 4300k (some bulbs claim 80/100, but just "look" like it but are still 55/60).
Also, my local import shop started stocking Mtec bulbs. Most are 4300k and look white/silver and barely noticable blue (this's what oncoming traffic sees). If you want a more blue tint, look for 5000k or 6000k.
Don't get HID conversion kits...the headlight housing wasn't designed for HID bulbs, so you're gonna be spraying light everywhere. A few members noted that they've pointed their headlights downward but still get highbeamed by oncoming traffic.

I hope they are cause I bought for my fogs. I don't think they make 9004...at least that what this guy told me and I couldn't find any.

Thanks,

Check my sig I did a bulb review about a year ago of a few bulbs.

PS - My 9004 piaa superwhites are over 2 1/2 years and my h3 piaa extreme's are close to two years old with no problems. Just be careful with any bulb, I always clean them first with rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth.

Razo's which you can buy here in the states. www.optauto.com Besides, why don't you just check a performance shop when you get there and look around for yourself? But as far as I know, most Japanese racers have switched to true HID's.

If you're going with HID, wait a few more days for me to update the group deal on dual beam (hi/low) hid.

I just needed clarification. So Racers use real HID and Ricers use regular Xenon bulbs?

I'm talking actual racers in Japan. I really don't understand where this "ricer" thing came from.

I had to enlist the help of another Nissan enthusiast who has experience w/importing from Taiwan. Things are looking good. There won't be any news for a while as they will be doing the talking and negotiating.

If you go to Japan, look for Yellowhut or Autobacs stores.

Autobacs is pretty nice, they have bulbs wired up to test and everything, sadly they don't sell 9004 bulbs here (I checked a few weeks ago).

You can get a ton of Polarg and PIAA bulbs.
