After installing my budget Y-pipe I'm having trouble remembering if the downpipe (that connects to the cat) had a gasket or a crush ring.
I think it had a crush ring. Does anyone remember? Also what size is the crush ring?

i put my budget on... i remember putting two crush rings on where the 2 banks of the engine were.... and on the part in front of the cat, i put sum flat black thing (is that the gasket? lol)

 

Like Miasma said, it's a gasket between the y-pipe/cat. You may be thinking of the crush rings between the exhaust manifold/y-pipe junctions. It's either 2.25" or 2" dia.
