*Pictures* - Day 1042 Strobe Install on MaximaRider's car

It's not really 1042 day, but you get the idea.. All is well except the pattern adjusters for rear and one rear strobe is bad from factory. Came out really really nice, boy o boy are these bad boys bright.

Tails Out

One headlight still dirty from drilling, one clean..

French kid a cleanin..

Wiring Mess, this was for the pattern and speed adjusters alone.. lol..

Most of the light assemblies assembled with strobes.

Foglight mounting, no more foggies for arnaud.. the strobes fit snug.

The back of the cupholder with pattern adjusters and speed adjuster momentary switches..

Front of cupholder all finished..

And that's about it.. this is a picture of the strobe switches we made in the flip up panel in the dash, more pictures are in the audio forum in the day 3 thread..

Is it difficult pulling out the cupholder? That seems like a great place to mount switches

the law

i think strobes are illegal to have on your car by law. you should not be messing with these bad boys if you are not a ambulance, police, special forces, etc.

Special Forces??? Did I stumble into a Topps Comics commercial??

It depends on the state and usually depends on color and users' intent. Almost every utility vehicle I see these days has strobes. And even in cases where the law is fairly strict, it's illegal to use them on a public way, not illegal to have them.

Everyone and their mother knows that driving with strobes on is considered impersonating a police officer which is also a felony. Trust me i'm a puss so i am careful.

It's a felony where? Not in most states I'd bet. And further, you need to prove intent. These are state laws we're talking about and they vary greatly. Most states outlaw specific colors (like blue and/or red) but very few have laws regarding clear strobes.

We ripped out the metal housing and just put the whelen strobe in the actual spot the H3 goes so i really have no H3's anymore, oh well, the HID's are enough now that both work again Thanks Freddie.

i'm glad i was able to help, you & jason might want to sell your hid kits and up-grade to the new kits. i don't think i can get my hands on extra parts for that kit any more. last kit i sold was about 3 months ago. warr is only 30 days.

i would hate to see you guys get stuck and i wouldn't be able to help you. that time is very near. the new kits have a 6 months warr.

talk to Jason and let me know.
