I hate to say this, Kia (particularly the Sorento) isnt rated that bad in ergonomics.

Did M/T ever test a VQ35DE Maxima??

they tested the 2k3 6speed in car and driver and got a 14.7 1/4 mile time, i dont know about the 0-60, but many of us know that a 3.5 6speed max well driven can pull off 14.4-14.6's easily, but that time for the new altima is amazing

I guess the Altima sets new standards in cruddy interiors then...

Maybe more along the lines of Pontiac?

I don't think M/T ever tested the 2k2 2k3 Maximas....

but Car and driver showed 0-60 in 6 flat 1/4mile 14.7...
then they went on to bash the car...

in the same issue, they had a "Sport Sedan Shootout"

The G35, 330i, IS300, 9-5, CTS, Lincoln LS...they were praising everyone of these cars...and the Maxima beat everyone of them...

bogus write up by C&D

of course they will praise everyone of them cars, they (CD) wouldn;t want to "offend" any of them, would they? let the 1/4 mile times speak for themselves and who the f*ck is gonna say "yeah, you beat me on the 1/4 mile run, but my interior is prettier then yours", so so ghay....

OK 2kseman, if you're in an Altima, and I'm in my Maxima, not only will I beat you in a 1/4 mile run, my interior is in fact "prettier".

but what I am talking about is the quality of the interior...if it were made of decent materials, I wouldn't mind the Altima interior at all...it's just made of some Payless Shoe's generic CRAP.
some want a balance of nice QUALITY interior, acceleration, 4 doors, manual tranny...reliable...that's why I love my Maxima...It's a BALANCE thing.

If I didn't care about the QUALTIY of my interior, and ONLY wanted 1/4 mile times, I don't think I'd be posting on a Maxima forum...I think I would be found on an SVT Mustang, or Camaro Forum...

why don't you go there? www.slowmaro.com or www.rustang.com

you seem to be more concerned about 1/4 mile times. It's not that I don't care about 1/4 mile times, but it's not the only thing I care about. I don't want to hear my interior rattle over the sweet sound of my engine, or my stereo...don't know about you, but isn't that why we love our Maxima's?

gay? are you serious?

no doubt, the Altima's interior is like what most people have said, cheap to max(no pun intended). i test drove the Alt3.5 and it liked the powerband, and that's it. if i was all about the 1/4, i would get the RX-7tt, strip it the bones. like you said, it's a balance thing, acceleration, handling, price, roominess(3small kids), fit and finish, that's why i got the Max, in fact, i find the my Max interior still pretty decent after driven the g35. i cant't the acceleration is the same though.......

btw; i think i have 50/50 balance becasue there's about 40 lbs of stereo stuff in the trunk, handles awesome!

Bogus writeup indeed!! I laughed hysterically at seeing that they were only able to get a 14.7 out of a 6sp Max; which is what I ran with my auto Max.

And that Sports Sedan shootout was an insult to every car enthusiast: 16 flat from the 3.2TL-S--which is AN UPPER 14 seconds car!! AND 15.6@92mph on a G35 sedan--the same car (essentially) they tested in the May 2002 issue that ran a 14.9@96mph.

They've become a joke, TOTALLY!!
