Just kissed the bumper of a Taurus....

Good morning! So on the wat to work today I decided to kiss the rear bumper of a Taurus with the front end of my Max. I live in MN and right now the roads are wet because we are having un-seasonably warm weather here. My anti-locks kicked in, I couldn't turn because I was on the freeway in bumper-to-bumper, and just touched his car. My LP and holder are dented and I have a scrape on the drivers side bumper but no real damage. He lost a little paint. So today, because I have 30K on my crappy Potenza's I'm going to get some Michelens. I think those are the recomended tires from you guys?

LP and holder??

Yeah, the consensus seems to be that Pilot Sports are the shizzy.

True, but I have had the car for a week and driven it twice to the store. If anyone has any experience on how the Coopers perform when really driven I would appreciate it, if they are ****e, then I may go buy some new tires.

Just got off the phone and ordered 4 Pilot Sports. It's to bad it took me trading paint to change tires.

It could have been worse. From what I have read, those tires are perfect from MN residence. Good luck

Ollie, should have ordered Sumitomos!

Jakester, take your car for a drive in an empty parking lot right after it rains. See how it handles\stops\accelerates etc. Watch out for those light poles though!

I had a set on a previous car and was white happy with the dry and wet handling of them. Since I do not live near snow, I cannot comment on the performance there.

Bros,
I got Toyo Proxes FZ4 and the handle is unbelieveable on both wet and dry roads. Snow is a breeze compared to the Potenzas. Right now on their website they are offering 500/45 (500 miles of 45 day trial offer). Not sure what the terms/conditions are. visit www.toyo.com

Sorry - I tried to reply yesterday and it didn't go through.

My cost from Tires Plus is 207.00 ea so with tax it'll be close to 900.00. I looked on Tirerack.com and you can get them for 197.00 but then you have to get them installed. Tires Plus will install, align, balance and I get a lifetime alignment and wheel rotation. SO I took that deal.

You did order the Pilot Sport All-Season, right? Not just the Pilot Sport?

For his sake, I hope so. I just pulled the Pilot Sports off my 2K - they suck big-time in the snow.

For you guys that have been driving on the Potenzas is it me or is it that they put too many vibrations throught the steering wheel.
