PS2 or DVD player?

I was thinking about running either a PS2 or DVD player in the car.

The PS@ can plau games and DVD's but the dvd playback has some issues. BUT a dvd player can't play grand thft auto or grandturismo

So what do yall like?

Yeah. The PS2 is on my hit list to throw in my ride. The symptom that it has when playing dvds is due to heat. I had played some games before I threw in a dvd and during the movie, it'll lock up a frame or two. So a 2 to 2 1/2 hour movie wouldn't be a problem, providing that there is ample cooling (which I'll have) and the dvd was the first thing you threw in!

if you have already spent the money on a decent headunit i wouldnt bother buying a DVD head unit for just that reason, i would go the ps2 route...and i think you need a DVD ripping program , not just an ordinary cd burn program to put movies onto cd-r

a regular CD-COPY program should work,,
mod chips are available from www.modchips.com
i would recommend the MAGIC 3.5 chip.. only 9 wires to solder...

Its not possible to burn DVD's to CD-R's DvD's hold 4.6 gigs of info where Cd-rs hold 700 tops, So you can't fit a movie onto a cd-r As for games, same thing goes if the game is for ps2 unless its a really small game which most are not. Ps-1 games work when burned though as long as you have the chip.

Thats where i'm putting mine, does it fit in there well? any modification needed? Also is there a DC adapter for ps2 or do you just use an inverter?

hey tony it didnt fit well at all..i soent a few hours cutting out the plastic pieces in the glove box. then had to modify the compartment behind the glove box(actually behind the dash) then i ran a 120 inverter and ran new wires to a custom switch to the ashtray whoch controlls the power to the inverter which in essence is the ps2 is alwasy plugged in and on will tur the ps2 on also... ill have pics up sooon as soon as i finish with all my other goodies! look fo rmy post in the 4th gen section
