In the continuing saga ("neverending" seems more like it) to get my Maxima to idle properly again, the mechanic says he's 95% sure I need to replace the computer. The car's had LOTS of other things done to it to t-shoot this problem, computer diagnostics, etc. and three different places now (including the dealer) have come up with nothing. Sooo, if anyone knows where I can score a computer for this thing REASONABLY, please do tell... It's an '89 with an automatic. I've got the numbers off of my computer- I'm told they need to match. Mine are "A18-A13-E71".

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

A) he doesn't have a core ECU to throw at them if his ECU is bad...

B) it's $$$$$ because of that and he can easily pick a known good ECU up here or from ebay for 100 bucks and up...

 

he never said he got rid of it now did he?

 

ummm, what does that matter?? if his OEM ECU is "bad" JWT won't accept his core to begin with....
