Cleaning question

Ok, I want to know what to use to clean the metal part on our doors between the front and rear windows. It's black metal, but mine is turning blue from sun fading or oxidation or something. I won't paint them I just want them to go back to flat black. Any suggestions?

I don't know the name of this piece of the door, but don't make fun of me, I already feel like an idiot for asking about That one metal piece on our door considering the entire car is metal, but I hope you guys know what i'm talking about. Thanks

it's really sad that people are so scared of asking questions for fear of being flamed and are subjected to calling themselves idiots for asking questions at all. granted that they should probably seach but i guess answering the same questions every once in a while over again is what actually keeps the org alive....after all, isn't there a finite number of questions concerning the max that can be asked?!

thanks for the very straight answer male. kinda thing some of us might not have thought of.

I agree with this completely. This site is here to help. Some people arent as savy with this site as some. I have no problem answering a question more than once...gives me a chance to wow the world with my vast knowledge (JK).

The black area on the doors tend to get pretty scuffed up from what i see. What I did was mask off the rest of the car (that could get damaged), sprayed black primer onto it, nice and neat, then sprayed a clear coat (couple layers). Came out looking like new again, no need to use black paint.
The fading you see, I hope that polish and wax will fix it, but I doubt it.
