Weird thing happened to my Maxima yesterday...
So I go furniture shopping with my girlfriend last night. Everything is fine and we're about to leave. All of the sudden the car won't start. I thought it was the alarm as I've had problems int he past. So I disconnect the battery and reset the alarm. Nothing happens.
My girlfriend trys to turn the car on while I listen in the engine bay. Hear a faint noise typical with alternator failure.
So I'm waiting for a friend to come by and jump start the car. I roll the car back about 20 feet to make it easier to jump the car.
For the hell of it I try to start the car, then it starts. I thought it was a fluke so I turn the car off and try it again at least another 10 times and it starts right up. However, on the drive to my mechanic the car doesn't feel as fast or responsive and the steering is a bit choppy.
All symptoms of an alternator or battery failure. However, what has me stumped is if the car was initially dead, why would it start up another 10 times? I've had alternator issues with prior cars and this was never the case.
