How much did u guys pay for tranny flush??

I'm looking to get my tranny fluid flush on my 98 max...i know alot of people buy their own fluid and get some shops to flush it for them...i was looking into doing that but last time when i was at a local dealer they said it would cost $99 to do it...should i just have them do it or buy some redline or mobile ATF and have other shops do it..

$99 is way too expensive for a tranny flush. Unless you're talking canadian dollars.

99 bucks at the dealer includes dropping the pan, cleaning the magnets, screen, new pan gasket flush and fill.

It cost me that much to do the same thing in my driveway when I switched to synthetic ATF. The dealer is going to put regular ATF back in it which is just fine.

If you compair the cost, either way your getting a service that can only do your tranny good.

If you do a search, you will find at least half a dozen times I have replied to posts such as these, with the info below.

I paid $89 to Jiffy Lube for a T-tech flush which included bringing in 12 quarts of my own Redline D4 ATF. Normal price was $99 but they took $10 off the price for my own fluid.

I don't think so. All they do is flush the tranny. I just had that done and they did not mention anyof the things other than the flush and fill you have listed below. You might want to check back with your dealer.

I guess every dealer is different. The dealer that services my car here in NJ gave me that info. It included the brake down of parts which included the fluid and a tranny kit. They would not use my Synthetic fluid so I had to do the flush myself.

I just baught the kit and did it myself because I changed it to Amsoil ATF at that time.

FYI - The tranny kit is nothing more then a pan gasket and if I remember correctly it was only around 20 bucks.

Did you notice any differences when you converted to AMSOIL ATF?

There is a nice write up on how to flush your tranny by disconnecting ATF return line on left rear bottom of ATF oil cooler. You can use search to find it. I did it that way myself and it took 10 quarts of AMSOIL ATF. I had about $50 tied up doing it that way. Took about 20 minutes. Took old ATF to Advance Auto for recycling. Made a big difference in transmission!

i only paid like 26 bucks at a local transmission shop, they quoted me like 100 but when they changed it, they said i didn't need a filter because i have the screen and he only charged me 26 dollars, i'm thinkin he messed up on the price or something but you might wanna call some transmission shops in your area, of course dealers going to charge alot more

I just had my tranny flushed at Jiffy Lube last Saturday. They used the T Tec and charged $89. They used Dextron III.

I only have experience with AMSOIL Synthetic ATF, made transmission a lot quieter at idle (eliminated what I thought was just normal tranny noise). Shifts much smoother and crisper. I thought it shifted fine before but it made it even better. Also flushed power steering unit and installed AMSOIL ATF. Absolutely no problems of any kind!

Either Redline or Amsoil (after shipping) is going to run you about $7/quart. If you're interested in a specific price for Amsoil, shoot me an email about discounts.

I just got a lil add/flyer thing in the mail today from Nissan. Had a whole bunch of service advertisements. advertised Auto Tranny service.

you get Inspect for leaks, Adjust Throttle Linkage, drain and refill with OEM fluid, and 14 point inspection.. for 45 bucks. not that shabby, im thinking of taking advantage of it

Despite what Nissan says, the maximum I would be comfortable running a conventional ATF is 30k. A synthetic ATF (Amsoil, Mobil 1, Redline)should be good for at least 60k miles.

ATF is a pinkish red. As it gets older it starts to turn a tan color then eventually it will get to a brownish color. Being yours is still pink you should be okay for 10k or so more miles. Hope this helps!
