how get the best time on 0-60 mph

hi there...well i have an automatic maxima 95 with intake and heres my question:

i have to get the best time on 0-60mph, so i dont know if i stay in N on 4000rpms and then shift to 1st gear...and then at 6000rpms get 2 gear..in my automatic...but my question is more based on the how may i start??? just keep normal rpms and then have hard foot on the acelerator??? or i have to keep some rmps and then shift to 1st????

let me know at this time i get 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds...and 7.3 somethimes...

Those are some pretty good times for an auto with just an intake. Are you using G-Tech? What are your current techniques? For mods I would get new tires and a Y-pipe if you don't already have them.

For an auto the best launches are
from a stop, in Drive or first gear, foot hard on the brake, push gas until RPM's are around 1800-2000 (depending on tires) then when your ready let off the brake, and depress the gas the rest of the way.

The best launch in the automagic, going 30-35mph, slam on the gas while droping it into first, just get ready to put it into second fast.

Going 55-60 slam on the gas and shove it into second.

Going 65 and over, turn overdrive off (it will shift to third) then punch it and turn overdrive back on (it should stay in third, but your RPM's should jump up about 400-500 and pull) why there is this difference when doing this I don't know. Sometimes when I race people on the highway I will leave it in overdrive off (while at WOT) until I am ready to light them up or if they start ot pull on me, then I'll turn overdrive back on and pull them hard. I did this to a modified previous gen CL 3.0 on I-35. We took off at about 80, my overdrive was off, we both were neck and neck up until 95, then I turned overdrive back on, my RPM's bumped up a little and I started pulling pretty good on the CL. No one has been able to explain why this happens, but it seems to be common on automagics. Hope this helps.

those are good tips. practice launching at different RPMs and observe how much wheel spin you are getting. ideally you want a tiny bit. also, neutral drops as you described in your original post are a you're asking for major tranny problems. if you want some quick and cheap mods, try the $15 intake and the drop resistor. the drop resistor alone should help you. hold the wheel tight for the 1-2 shift! i wasn't expecting to chirp so hard into 2nd gear.

Whats a drop resister? not that it matters to me, but is it something that allows the tranny to shift much harder?

I had something similar to that on my last car (IAT mod), bypassed fuel cut off at 6600 and sent fuel till 7K redline followed by an incredibly hard shift into 2nd. Took .5 off my 1.4 times, that alone
