worst gauge install ever! help please

well, first of all it took me forever just taking everything apart. i broke the black bezel piece because those clips were impossible...so i'll either leave it on there broken or find a replacement. anyways, the gauges came out good. i colored the needles red. i'll post pics later. they are bright white at night and look good after all the trouble of messing up wires and such.

here in lies the problem:
at first, all my lights including headlights were weak and dimming but i realized my battery was dead. so after i jumped it, the headlights and clock worked. however, now my PRND12 (which i put a blue led in two nights ago and it looks awesome!!) doesn't come on, as well as the climate controls. when i clicked one the green light would come on, but the overall lights showing each different thing were out. also, the mileage and tachometer mileage lights went out too.

could this be a fuse? or is my wiring somehow making these all out?

i really appreciate any help and suggestions. i'll post pics tomorrow night.

Your most likely right and it is a fuse. It should be like internal lamp or elec parts. Something along the lines of that.

This might sound dumb, but check your dimmer switch.

what should i be checking for?

the thing is, all acc lights are out except when you choose whichever heat, then it lights green, but the one that shows which ones it is doesn't light up. i haven't yet clipped the dimmer switch back in because i've left it all apart because i don't want to take all the parts off again to have to fix it. it seems like A)a fuse is out. but i checked most of the fuses today and they seemed fine, the ones next to where your left knee would be... or B) there isn't enough power to light those up since i tapped into the blue wire to power the gauges.

someone please help!! it's weird driving around with those lights all out. gauges still look good atleast!

The dimmer switch supplies the ground for all your "dimmable" dash lights. You have to have the dimmer switch connected for the dash lights to illuminate. Just plug the connector together w/o replacing everything to test this. I'm sure this is your problem. Good luck.

thank you both for the kind words and I hope that takes care of your light problem. As for the cluch, that's impressive yours is still going strong. I can't really complain about my clutch though - it lived a hard life. muuwhahaahaah I can't believe you haven't seen me on here before, I see meccanoble's threads quite often and I think I've responded to some of your electrical questions.

it's all good now! you were right about it being the dimmer switch. before when my battery was low they were all being wacky and fading, then once that was recharged, it was just the switch so i was nervous. here are pics if anyone cares. and btw, they don't look green like they do in the pic.

here's my blue led in my shifter...
