HELP ~ My engine burps in idle.

My fuel filter is only about 15k miles old, spark plugs 2000 miles old. Car was absolutely fine until this. When I'm idling in D or N, my engine "burps" and I can feel a small bump when it does that.. I dont know what it is or why it does this. Its very sporadic and does it like every 10 or 15 seconds or so.

I talked to ethan (emax) and he says that with catbacks, (which I got recently), his maximas did that too. But I am not 100% sure if my "burp" and his were the same kind.

The car feels strong as before. And the added power I realized from the newly acquired RT cat and the catback is there too. Do you think I should increase the idle ? What the heck could be causing this? OH I almost forgot. One of my coils is "superglued" together. The bottom bootpart of the coil that hugs the plug ripped, so I superglued it. Could this be the culprit?

Thanks for all the inputs.

I would like an answer to this problem too..I cleaned my throtle body but its still three..I have 5spd but sometimes it will just sit there and blip from 700 idle to 500 and yes you can feel it..and do it for a few secs 10 or so then stop. I'm wondering if its my battery going out because it has really week stops and maybe at idle it just needs more juice. I have about 8k on my fuel filter and new plugs. I'm a 99 so I suspect a coil myself dont the 99's have lots of prbs.

If you suspect it's the coil, find someone elses to swap with and see if it still "burps".

I'm curious, what do you mean by "week stops"?

In any case, once the car is running, a battery shouldn't have any effect on idle quality.

Hey thats a very good idea. Are coils from 4th gen and 5th gen compatible? Because my brother has a 2k.
OH wait. My mom has a stock 97 SE too. LOL. I will try the coil-swap this weekend. thanks for the idea !

And couple days ago I found out that when I'm idling with AC and headlight on, when I step on the gas and start moving light gets lil bit brighter and AC fan comes out stronger!! What the heck ?? That means Im not getting enough electricity at idle right? Could this be a sign of an alternator going bad?

Most cars don't have enough juice at idle to handle a full electrical load, especially if the car is idling a little too low. It COULD be a sign that the alternator is getting weak, but it also might be very normal.

A "flaky" TPS can also cause similar symptoms

Srry about that I meant my car had "week starts". I dont know if this has anything to do with it. But my car does this blurping only on hills either if I'm facing up or down?? any ideas why that is. If I'm on level ground it doesnt do it.
