I tried it at my last oil changed. I went ahead and installed a switch next to the computer, so I could ground them while sitting in the car. Initially the results were very good, no ticking at startup, but then after a week or two it came back again. I think I ran Gunk's brand of motor flush. I plan to do it again at my next oil change (2 months or so from now) but I'll try a different brand of motor flush. While running the motor flush I periodically ungrounded the vtc's just to have the sprokets engage and disengage a couple times (about 10 or so) to help disolve and crud or varnish that may slow the mechanism from functioning properly, but the majority of the time they were grounded so that the cleaner would go through the gallies.I reccomend you try it, you've got nothing to lose. Just make sure you ground the proper wire when installing the switch (which I reccomend).
