18x8 or 17x8 ??

Im definetly getting Evo 5's but I just cant decide on 17's or 18's ?? I want performance still but 18's look so dam* sick on a Maxima...I have sprints already so wheelgap isnt an issue..and another reason I dont wanna get 18's is the tires are expensive and there heavy

-Matt
what ya think

Get 18's. I had 17's and they looked kinda small for hte max, so I ended up getting 18's. Tires for 17 vs 18's aren't that bad.

What is the weight and cost difference, if its not that bad, go with the 18's. Or you can stick with the stock 16's like my poor @ss

definitely 18's. don't worry so much about performance when discerning between 17's and 18's unless you've got a lot going on under the hood.

I just bought some 18 x 7.5's offset 42mm, can't wait for the spring. I too have no money now after buying rims/tires, so I'll be stock height for a bit, it will probably look nasty, but I've got a body kit which should make the car look lower. Or, it could add to the nastiness. Oh well.. we'll see.

Yeah, and your car doesn't look all that bad, however, I have the ionic kit, with the sideskirts that go lower than stillen's, but also will the 18's add to wheel gap, or decrease it some? thanks

if you get the right size tires, gap should be the same. it just appears bigger as the rim size goes up.

if you have a turbo wouldn't it be a better idea to go with 17X8's?

No offence, but nothing could look nastier than those hub caps, so i'm sure that your car will look much better regardless, although the drop would finish it off very nicely...

I know that pic makes the car look like ****.. but im keeping it there, until the spring so i have a before and after shot for my sig. That pic was taken the first day the car arrived at my house, so I wanted a pic to remember what I started with. Already I added some little cosmetic things such as stillen/ionic body kit, 25% tints, clears, ill be doing red/clears and the rims for spring. I havn't done that much performance besides intake, but i dont have any money, it's coming along slowly.

17s are too small these days, matt..

a lot of the 18s are pretty heavy but think of the compromise..

is it better to be a tiny bit faster or look 10 times better

i'll be going with 18s myself... even though roads around here are terrible..
