Hey guys,
I was just looking around my car yesterday, and decided to take a look at the sticker that's on the driver's side door sill (the one that has the VIN, build date, and some other info). I have the 2003, and the build date was 07/2002.

I was just curious what other build dates some of you have (2003 owners)?

Any 2003's actaully made in 2003? I think legaly nissan has to make them into 2003 for it to be a "2003".

BTW I really have a 2001 The build date is 8/01

I don't think so because they sell 2003s in 2002, so obviously there's no way for most of them to be built in 2003. It's kind of weird how the auto industry works in this regard.

 

My 2002 was built in 2001 as well.

You missed what I was getting at. What I mean is for a vehicle to be coined a particular model year I beleive atleast "one" vehicle has to be made in that model year.

I am starting to wonder if i have an 02. I bought it used at a local ford dealer, 104K miles 03 SE 6 speed with a 3.5. If its an 03, according to this thread, its the oldest one listed. Don't have the title yet, but all the dealer paperwork said its 03. Great car so far.

 

Nissan builds the YEAR MODEL (as it is called) from July though May. June is tool change-over for the next year model. Based on 04-02, I would say you have 2002 model.

But there's always exceptions, so look at the VIN number. It has the year model built into it. Example:

JNKNG11C89T000001

The 10th character from the left is the year code. My example would be a 2009. A 2002 year model would be a 2 and a 2003 year model would be a 3.
