I really like the way it works in the snow. It lets you accelerate nice & easy, and it keeps you on track. I was seriously thinking about getting snow tires... but I may not need them after all.
The only thing I hate about it is that it's on by default... I always end up turning it off every time I get into the car. The last thing I need is traction, when I'm flooring it in the summer!
Hopefully this will help some "lurkers" decide if they should by a Max with/without the Meridian Package.

i still dont get the point of not having a TCS option on a manual WITH the HLSD
my friend's 2k GTI VR6 had TCS and its manual , its really nice to have when you take nice long turns really fast in 2nd gear,

By the way, did the GTI have a LSD of any kind? If not, it may have used the TCS to compensate for the diff. rather than work with one.

Acura TLs & CLs have the best system - VSC Vehicle Stability Control Sytem (?) which is the shiat.

my friend took turns at 50mph in 2nd(which is close to 5krpm...where most of the power is), and you saw a light flicking which was the TCS(or ESP how VW calls it)
Difference of opinion here.
I think TCS sucks, even in snow. Its good for helping you get off the line and in small turns (turned on for me a few times even with snow tires), but when it comes to climbing hills and slight grades, they blow monkey chunks. I got stuck because of this, and I felt like a fool when a CRX passed me up the hill (at least I got further than a Saab). Needless to say, I only got up the hill after 15 minutes of struggle and spinning by turning TCS off and some weaving. =/
