Which Turbo is best for our Maximas?

Ok, so there is a plethora of Turbo choices out there. For my birthday, my father bought me a T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo from www.turbochargers.com in anticipation that I will be going turbo in the next few months. But, I can return it for a full refund or trade it in for a better turbo. Now, my biggest question is, what is the optimum sized turbo to use in our Maximas? I know the T3/T4 has the best spool up rate, but other people are using the T3/TO4E combo and a T60 ball bearing turbo. What are the advantages and disadvantages to each turbo? What is best for dragging at the track? Etc etc etc. They all look the same to me, but what is best for our application? Thanks guys......

I went through all the stuff that would take forever to type out, but basically whether he wants track car (giant turbo + nos), daily driver that boosts very early (hybrid turbo), etc.. Because you can go anywhere from a quick spooling t3/t4 making 3psi@1500, full boost at 2500rpm, to the awesome T3 stageIII special-order(making full boost around 3000-3300, and has incredible top end) turbo (my personal favorite!!) - this is not your standard t3 III btw, or even the route nigel chooses to go T4/60-1 with not much until 5000+... there are plenty of options out there, it is more of what you want it for, how much peak hp and when you want it spooled. There are a few other crazy combo's possible, that I will be testing out personally here soon as my built tranny is finished (couple weeks)

I have had a customer already switch turbo's from the t3/t4, to a larger size... he dynoed a little more of course, but the next day he switched back because he loved seeing the boost so early for normal driving..

Do you mean T3/T4? I was under the impression that the T3 (non hybrid) was too small for our displacement.... what are the specs of the turbo your referencing?

A standard T3 is too small for our engine. This is not a standard t3, and it also is not the stage I, stage ii, etc t3 like you would think, tricky as anything! It supports up to 650hp, and works beautifully with our car! I will try and get more info from my turbo supplier on them... they cost a few hundred more than a t3/t4, but could be worth it.. physically, the turbo I am talking about is larger than a t4 turbo, figure that out

All of the stuff I said earlier about maximas is the exact same for your I30... vq30's, same setup As far as cost, www.hlh0501.com for the kit pricing (will be changing shortly).. that includes a t3/t4 which is awesome for what you were just talking about, daily driving, having boost in the lower rpms for normal driving, etc...that is how i decided on the turbo I am currently running, not for absolute peak hp for track only use, I wanted something I could daily drive and love seeing boost constantly.. it's up to what you like and how you will be driving decides what turbo we use

Well, I have yet to see any dynos from anyone running T3/TO4 B or E. Even though the big power doesn't come on until later I think it is more than adequate even lower down. I will hopefully be trying out a new experimental turbo soon that is fully spooled at around 2500 rpm. If someone has posted dynoes for a T3/T4, that's great, I would love to compare. Perhaps I missed it since I don't visit the boards so often.

It's true I have to keep my revs up when I race, 4000+ rpm gives me more than enough torque and power. I don't want to be boosting when I am cruising on the highway (something I need to do everyday). With this new turbo, that's what I am afraid of, but if it is under light load, it shouldn't be too bad.
