also i don't know if its extra.. but i would reccommend you getting your seats preforated.. not only does it add a sporty look.. it keeps my seats cool during those hot summer days and my seats are black the first summer i had them.. the car was hot.. the dash was hot.. and i climbed in the car expecting to be scorched.. no such thing.... and also not as cold during those cold winter months..

Leatherseats.com: Thanks for extending the GD till March 31,2003. I'm interested in this GD but would like to know the following:
-Will this be hard to install???
-What are perforated inserts???
-What is colored piping???
-What does this whole leather kit cover???(ex.front and back seats,armrest,two-tone,embroidery etc???
Sorry for asking all these stupid questions. I just wanted to know because I've never done this kind of mod before.

I just went to their site. Read up on the installation part. Seems like this mos is timely and requires some skills (but then again,What mod doesn't) I'm just kinda weary of the installation part of things. My front seats are powered, heated, and have SRS side air bags in them. I just don't want to end up ruining my stock leather interior. Although they do look tiiite as hell in maximas. Any insight will be appreciated.

If you want this mod, and have the money, you cannot pass this up.

I paid over $100 more with one of the most recent group deals. Honestly, installation was a b!tch. Cut up my hands and took a long time. Their installation kit sucks ***. I would recommend getting the tools yourself. But the leather is decent.

leather GB answers...

Dear Members,

leather ebrake boot......$49.99
leather shift boot.......$49.99
leather Wheelskin........$39.99

The shift and ebrake boots are available in any of the 50 colors to match the leather kit. The wheelskins are only available in 14 colors.

The install is very very straight forward 0n the maxima. It would be extremely difficult to ruin the factory seat covers, whether leather or cloth, in the removal process as long as you are careful, ask questions before taking action, and follow directions. You could actually remove your factory leather without damaging it and sell it to another member or on ebay if you really wanted to. The new covers go on the same way the old covers come off except if you have a 98 or newer maxima. Then the only difference is that the front backrest map pockets are integrated into the seat and you don't have to reuse the factory fiberboard back. It makes the install a little easier in one way and little harder in another. The factory seat heaters are no problem, they are not connected to the seat covers at all. The SIA system is no problem either, you just unplug your negative battery terminal before the install. The airbag units are integrated into the foam of the seat core... not the covers.

The $554.00 includes the leather kit front and rear with door inserts, the install kit, and shipping to your door within the continental U.S. As far as the install kit suckage, I think that triple8sol is referring to the Hog Ring Pliers. They are a cheap version of a really good hog-ring plier and the reason we sell them is to save the customer money on a tool that they will probably only use once or twice at most. We do have very nice sets of Hog-Ring pliers available, but they are about $30.00 just for the pliers and rings... no upholstery adhesive. It is a very nice, very easy to use, professional spec plier.

Hope I got everything.

Thanks,
Eric

Wheelskin colors...

Members,

The armrest for the 4th gen maxima is $49.99 in leather. The factory one is vinyl so it is an upgrade and you can choose your color from any of the 50 we have.

The link below is to a pic of the Wheelskin colors...

Thanks,
Eric

What happened to your grill? Is it painted black or missing? I kind of like the look though, whatever it is.

Perf suede...

Dear MardiGrasMax,

You just add the suede option and the perf option together for the total. That is $100.00 + $35.00 normally, but with this buy it is $110.00 total.

I once made a custom grill for my maxima also. I wish I could find a pic.

Thanks,
Eric

Like black seats with red stiching? Like Audi has IIRC?

Yes, I was referring to the hog-ring pliers. They broke on me halfway through the first seat I attempted.

question

So honestly would you say if a person is able to read and follow directions. Is very patient and doesn't mind spending 7-8 hours or whatever it usually takes to install them, but this person has no prior knowledge on upolhstering, or doing anything like this, they will be able to install these with not to much trouble?
