a question about manuals in drag racing
a question about manuals in drag racing
I've been reading up alot on this topic, so I know about the pre stage, yellow light, etc etc. But a question I have is that since i've been driving an automatic and might switch to a manual later on, how do you keep the car from moving after you've staged already?
For autos, brake torqueing seems to do the trick... but if the ground is not level, won't the manual car start to slide a little either forwards/backwards?
Do you have to pull the parking brake up until the third yellow and launch at whatever rpms you decided at?

If your car rolls forwards or backwards at the line, go to another track. It is supposed to be level.
We do not drag race up and down hills.

Larry Fontana's track is on a slight down hill...ive noticed that my car rolled on the staging lanes a few times but you do get a few inches before you break the second barrier light and red light. I pulled the brake once but it took my concentration off the tree and it screwed up my reaction time..This happend to me in the right lane but never in the left lane
we race at a strange track.....
