My sister has a Max with 100k and it shifts smoothly, where as my 96 Max with 144k shifts hard from 1-2nd gear until it is warmed up. Even when the trans is warm, it sometimes shifts harshly. What is wrong with these transmissions? I hear even the 5th gens do the same. My parent's 97 Intrepid transmission makes mine feel like crap. When I bought the car used and test drove it, it was smooth. The jerky shifts occurred 6 months afterwards.

hard shift on cold condt = bad tranny fluid, bad VB(maybe clutch solenoid)
