I am thinking about putting some exterior graphics on....What does everyone think?

I have access to free graphics work for my max and I am really considering putting some on. I am not looking to put on any gaudy graphics or ugly flames that a lot of cars put on to make it look really bad, but I am going for the sporty and classy look which I have seen. What does everyone think? Any design ideas? Now everyone please reframe from saying that dreaded 'r' word that everyone hates. An example of some good work would be think: (minus a couple of small changes to it I would make)

Everyone please comment with some helpful ideas.

i say keep it clean man, we get enough slack already, i'd rather be a sleeper than a show car (although i do have carbon altezza's), the paint job on the car in your pic is pretty good though, looks classy, it's still your choice, but if you do, don't over do it, keep it respectable. we're better than those <insert R word here>.

I'd to see graphics put on a maxima tastefully. I say go for it! I just hope it doesn't end up looking "r"

please dont feel like we're pressuring you though, it's just some graphics, nothing bad, i mean whats the worst that could happen? you might get picked on a little in the forums, get threatening phone calls at night, hunted down, stalked, have you naked pics published on the net, nothing serious right? go ahead, it's your car, put on your graphics, we're all going to be there for you..

What are your plans?

I agree with the comment that you should do it only for a show car. I think it all depends in the plans you have for your car. Is it a keeper or will you sell it in two years? I wouldn't buy a car with graphics. I'd tend to think the previous owner liked racing and the car is smoked.

Your car will also get more attention from people (and also thieves, and paint scratching maniacs with keys in their hands). You will also get a lot more provocation from people in the street who want to race you.

You could consider waiting and save for a good paint job. Remember that those stick on graphics tend to get outdated as your car gets older. Think of the older cars you have seen around with graphics from their time and see if you really like it. Also the decals are prone to lose the original color and peel unlike a good paint job.

On the other hand, I don't agree with the people that call you names for the things we put in our cars. We have to be aware that as our model depreciates more people with different backgrounds will have access to the 4th generation maxima and enter the org, we should let the hate go. This thread has been respectful, I hope it ends the same way.

its your car, do what YOU want to do. your the one driving it everyday and looking at it, etc... its kinda like a tatoo, if you like what you see and have put a lot of thought into it, then go for it. but dont make a hasty decision and get it "just to get it"

Are you talking about painted graphics or the stick on kind. If it's the stick on kind and they're free, I say go for it. Then if you don't like it you can just take 'em off. I've had mine on for about six months and will probably change or just take them off in a couple of more months. Only cost me $75. But like someone else said, do what you want, not what everyone else likes. I have Altezzas even though everyone hates them. I have graphics that some might consider "rice-y". I have neons and strobes...rice-y. I don't care...it's my car.

i have also been looking in to it, i would tell you to do it just make sure it's nice and not to much. it's better to look alittle different than to look the same as everyone else.

there was a white max a few months back with graphics on it...didn't look too bad at all. many people won't like them but i think many may, only thing that matters is if you like them. make sure you see what it's gonna look like on first before you bite the bullet. goodluck making your decision!

Go for it. Although I am not a big fan of graphics or anything that could be "rice" related, you did say it was FREE so why not? If it's really that bad, u can easily take it off. How about u get the designs that are available for u and we'll help you pick

I think that you already know the general rice-a-phobic feeling here and if polled you would find the majority telling you don't do it. Really though...If it's your car, then it's your prerogative.

IMO, I wouldn't do it.

If you were to do it, don’t do something so outrageous that I would have to deny that you’re driving a Maxima.

YES

Def go for it, it can be done tastefullly. Dont make it too big and try not to contrast background color too much so that it's not obvious. Can be done tastefully, I had a pulsar with small graphix, it could only be seen at a certain angle under direct sunlight.

If I had to get one, Id get a character type thing. Like those on the cars in the Fast and the Furious. In my opinion those look good. Especially the blue Maxima.

Re: I am thinking about putting some exterior graphics on....What does everyone think?

First of all, that car looks horrible, and that's only becuase there's language that I shouldn't use on here.

It all depends on the look that you're going for, which should be an expression of yourself. I personally like the whole shiny black on black, classy, lo-pro thing. But you may obviously, like something much different.

Just do it tastefully!

And always think about how it's going to look
Next year
When the car is dirty
When you pick up a nice girl

I know decals like the ones posted in this thread are gay. Opinions were asked for and were given.

Well, if you're going to get it done for free, I would say go for it, but make sure you do it tastefully, like the others say. The pic you posted it nice, but that's only good if you are going to the "show car" look. Personally, I think it's too much, but if you like it, then go for it.

Do The Damn Thang

Keep it simple yet bold and make sure it matches the theme of the car. Don't go putting graphics on your car with a set of bling bling wheel covers or throwing on some loud a$$ color. If its vinyl you can always take it off. Heck, if it was free it would'nt be a big deal.
