Finally got my hands on two sets of JWT billet cams for the VG30E engine, a stage one and stage two. Stage two cam is spoken for, but I should be getting more. Stage one is available to the first buyer. Specs are as follows:

Stage one -- .440'/260 degree
Stage two -- .473'/266 degree

With only bolt-on level upgrades the two versions will make about the same power, at least 10hp peak, according to Jim Wolf. Stage one power comes in a little earlier on the rpm range than the stage two and will idle a little smoother. Stage one is recommended for gen3 Maximas with automatic transmissions.

Stage two will be running harder at redline. If you've done any serious building on the engine, or plan to, the stage two would definitely be the way to go.

In either case, these cams finally do what the engine needs most, opening it up on the top end so it doesn't drop dead at 5k rpms.

I'll also mention that these will definitely run with the stock ECU, but they are the ideal partner with the JWT ECU upgrade. Can't make any promises, but anyone with a reasonably strong engine, the cam/ECU, intake and Cattman s/s Y-pipe should be in a position to make some serious challenges, I'd sure like to see the first dyno. I am confident that power gains of 30+ hp are entirely within reason.

I expect to receive these cams by the end of this week or beginning of next. Contact my order line (800.795.1513) to order, price is $545 (lower than the JWT retail $). Judging from experience, I'm not sure when I'll get more, so I'll take backorders (with no promises on schedule), but not deposits. So, first come, first serve.

Contact me at the address below if there are any questions.

cool...for the vg engine? what are the predicted HP and Torque (or newton meter) gains for stage one and for stage two?

Jim said that it would be good for at least 10hp, but it really depends on what's on with it, because adding the cam could have much more significant results depending on how the engine was built. The stage two has more potential in that regard, but they are somewhat similar if used on a near-stock engine.

So, in effect, there's no accurate or knowledgeable way for me to answer your question. Sorry. What we know for a fact is that this basically takes the lid off the rpm barrier for that engine (5k rpms begins the dead zone) and is literally the only thing you can do to it to make it rev.
