97 GLE cruise control fix

Just bought a 97 GLE (wh/blk lthr)...sa-weet car. Cruise doesn't work (no light, won't set). Any idea of $$$ this may run to repair? Also, the darn thing came without a moon roof shade, weird. Thx in advance.

Does the light on the switch to the left of the steering wheel come on when you press it? Do you mean your car doesn't have a sliding shade to cover the sunroof??

If the switch does not work on the dash, I have one I can sell you. I paid $75 at the dealer for the thing and I do not need it. You can have it for $40 shipped if you want it.

Right, no light comes on when you toggle the cc switch. And yeah, no slider shade...I spoke to the dealer and they said it's an $800 parts and labor fix (they have to remove the roof lining to get a new one in). That will have to wait until Summer.
