526,000 miles and counting....

I have a 1989 Maxima with 526,000 miles on the original enine. Never had the valve covers off. What is the record mileage for a single engine of the Maxima?

Wow that's a lot of miles, maybe if you tell Nissan about this they will give you a 2003 or 2004 for free

Your car must also have the record of most timing belts replaced on an original engine

Record? I think you've got it. most I've seen is about 300K on one engine.
Very impressive!

now for the real question... how many trannies have you put in that car?

And I thought I had high mileage, youve got twice what I've got. As soon as you get pics I think you'll be the record holder.

i would have to say that you have to be the highest miles of all the cars i have seen before. i work at a service station so i see alot of cas taht have high miles. i think the highest miles i have seen was pushing 400k. not 500 **** man. well that proves that maximas are the best cars you can get. well in my opion. see some pics.

Hmmm according to Nissan 500K miles is more like 8 timing belts. You're more luck that one of em didn't snap.

I've had the regular wear and tear maintenance that any vehicle will have. The engine, however, is as it was the day I bought it 13 years ago.

The comma is misplaced right? Was that a typo? You car has got to have the highest mileage on the original engine - hands down. One day and many oil changes, trany's, and tires from now, my Max will make it there.

I will get pics out ASAP. I appreciate all the interest in my faithful road companion. I hope I can get word to Nissan regarding my Maxima. I would appreciate any help from my fellow Maxima owners. Wish me luck!
