then the throttle cable is tightened, the gas petal will react faster than before... in other words, it'll jus be more agressive and sensitive in auto_shifting...

i guess it's a personal perference, i like it this way.

I dont think its the altezzas, i think your car has ben hit in the back before and not fixed correctly, I think you got lied to when you bought your car because they also told you its a SE and the crome trim around the window gives it away.

Great way to snap your throttle cable. That's not the way you "tighten" your gas pedal bro, hate to tell you

Same Altezza problem

I have exactly the same Altezza lights on my 95 max se auto, and the spacing is also a problem. Where did you get them and how much did you pay? I got them on Ebay for like 160$+shipping. Any sugestions how to fix this? These lights look cool from further away, but they are not that great once you see the gaps. Also, keep them away from water (when you wash don't direct water stream directly at tailights), I noticed small gaps where they forgot the silicone, so sometimes you see a little fog inside them.

slightly tightening your throttle cable is not a bad idea, overtightening can lead to snapping. Be cautious in doing it.

Correct, but it shouldn't really be felt in the gas pedal unless it was extremely loose to begin with, which I highly doubt

I agree Araffio, I would say that in most cases I have seem them moderately loose, not extremely. But on occassion I see one that was so loose it was like they had drive-by-wire I can't stress how important it is to be careful when doing this mod, if you overtighten too much and it snaps, you are talking $$$$. The dealer would charge you an arm and a leg for this replacement. I did like the result on my 95 when I did it, made the car a lot more fun to drive, less lag.

So how do you tighten it? My auto lags a big, I have actually noticed it before this thread too! and I think the car is GXE, but who knows, werd.

Try cleaning your throttle body first, that should definitely help if you've never done it before. Most likely not the throttle cable.

happy, change your sig. to read 'GXE', instead of 'SE'. What made you think you had an SE?

u can't really tell if it's "tighten" jus by lookin at my engine bay... u can tell if u actually step on the gas petal to feel a difference between a "losen" one and a "tighten" one... i understand the fact that tighten it too much will brake my throttle cable, so i did not go all the way...

this settin has been on my max for 1 year... and it still runnin good.

That wasn't his point. He was only pointing out that you have GXE wheels... because you have a GXE, not an SE as you claim.

And you still haven't acknowledged that you have a GXE yet.

when i got the car i was told it is a SE model, when i register for insurance it says it's a SE model... before i receive my max all i know is it's in great condition, well-maintained... but back then i didn't know jack about cars, and i am well-convinced that my max is a SE model

u guys mite be rite jus by judgin from the rims... i'm not tryin to start a debate about the model of my car jus base on the rim, anywayZ i will get rims soon (most likely konig)...

The rims are a small factor....

The chrome window trim is the main given that YOUR MAXIMA IS A GXE!!!! Chrome door handles too right? No fog lights right? No spoiler right? You never know, your insurance may go down a few bucks if you get it switched from an SE to a GXE.

The only thing SE about your max are the white guage faces

Try a carfax report and find out some more history of your ride.

Well, I am glad you are 'well-convinced'. Too bad you are wrong! Man, you crack me up. Here are 5+ people, all Maxima enthusiests, telling you that you have a GXE and you are so stubborn to still insist you have an SE. If you had an SE, you would have a spoiler (or spoiler holes), you would have black window trim (not chrome as seen in your pic.) and yes, you would have SE rims (not GXE hubcaps). And I can't see the rest of your car in your pics but I assume you have chrome doorhandles (a sign that it is a GXE) and you probably don't have fatcory fog lights (a sign it is not an SE). Give it up bro., no one is going to beleive that someone bought an SE and traded out the window trim, took off the spoiler and filled in the holes, downgraded to hubcaps, etc., etc.... Just accept it, change your sig. and stop being stubborn.

If we're going to nitpick on something that doesn't matter, i want to know why in the mods list it says :"4000k Superwhite headlight" I'm assuming these are still 9004s, so why the temperature rating? I thought unless you had HIDs the only way you could change color output on a bulb would be to paint them, and even then the temp would stay the same.

if he believes its an se, thats fine. 4000k "hid like" bulbs? cool

its just car talk stuff, and maybe appearing smart on the org isnt his goal. he's not being stubborn really, its just what he believes about his car. no need to bash him about it

becuase you could have checked the 4th gen classifieds and paid the same price for ones that fit, and seen pics to prove they fit.
