I have a 1992 Maxima and while driving the rpms will jump up and down and then all of a sudden stop. It will also suddenly lose power and even if i put the accelerator to the floor the car will continue to loose power, then all of a sudden the power will come back and the rpms will tach out. I have no idea whats wrong with the car and any ideas will be appreciated.

Clean out the throttle body while your in there, you won't believe how dirty it is. Search archives on how to do it, it's real easy.
