at last got 23 mpg/city
at last got 23 mpg/city
As i told you guys before, i remplace my knock sensor, re-tighten the o2 sensor(after i clean very deep with CB cleaner) and clean all the upper manifold, intake, IAC, and to end this turn up, all the EGR system(clean EGR valve, change all hoses, clean EGR pipe, make new gaskets)
After all this...man!!! at last i got 23 mpg in my city, you should know this s...t city has some hills every 5 blocks jejejeje so i think is amazing got this fuel mileage
i posted this thread before but didnt put if my mileage goes high...and right now after some tanks...the results was that.

can you explain how you cleaned the egr system?
can you explain how you cleaned the egr system?
1. Remove the EGR valve(its easy, take a few tools) For this dont forget where the hoses are located.
2. If you have already remove the EGR valve, so i guess you can remove the EGR pipe. For do this you will need to press down a little the pipe that is conected to the right side of the EGR valve.
The EGR pipe is connected to the upper manifold to(behind) so if you can remove the IAC it will be very easy to located and re-install. Dont be scare to remove the IAC is just 3 f...g bolts and the EGR temp sensor is attachet to it.
Well after you have all this part, you can clean them for this, heres the instructions:
1. EGR valve, well...spray a lot of CB clenar to the 3 holes, you will see what i mean, but NEVER, i mean NEVER inside the hose that connect the EGR valve with the upper BPT hose.
NOTE: theres a little pipe that is connected to the EGR valve and BPT, thats oks...you can clean it. You can wait several minutes after clean it again...i did like 5 times, and the EGR valve was like new(inside holey....s....it, it was a world deposit of carbon
2. EGR pipe....to the same spray a lot of CB cleaner, DONT forget to clean the EGR temp sensor. My egr pipe was very clogged, if you can see the dimm was like 0.8 inchs, but the hole was like 0.4 inchs for the carbon deposit.
Well, after all this, you can make your own gasket, with some cheap material, you can buy from lowes or autozone, etc..just ask them
Put it all again, dont forget to check all the hoses...if you can replace them DO IT.
My ECu always pull me the 0302 codes, i almost bought the EGR valve...after i saw a little crack form the hoses on the EGR solenoid...after i replace all the hoses for new ones...my car is running good.
Well sorry for this long thread and bad write...i have a couple of drinks..inside(im hapy for this gas saving)
