it was friday, january 5 2001. i was driving down I-15
towards Vegas. Pacing a QX4 b/c i liked the HIDs he had... plus, seeing his 240hp in action where out of the corner of my eye up ahead is a CHP. ARGH! went on the brakes... everyone slowed down to 70mph.... he went behind me... i hoped that he was going for the Infiniti so i pulled to the next lane to "let him pass"... the bugger pulls up next to me and P/A's me, "MAXIMA, FOLLOW ME, MAXIMA, FOLLOW ME". ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

followed them and BOTH of us get pulled over. he clocks me at 98 (WHICH I WILL fight) and cites me for my (just installed) blue front markers (man, they looked nice...) and while i was just gonna sign that damn ticket, he notices my front tints... asks me, "are your front windows tinted?" of course i reply, "Nooo, just the rears." "roll them up, sir." MANG!!!

so i get pulled over, 1 ticket, [b]3[/i] citations.... thankfully the lights were just fix-it.... but DANG!!!! THREE CITATIONS!!! insurance here we come....

CRAP. happy birthday to me.

First, don't EVER lie to cop.

Second, you do not have to roll up your windows if they are down when he approaches the car.

Third, sorry about your luck, and good luck fighting that ticket.

Man that blows. Gotta hate them piggies. I can't wait to get a Radar Detector. Woulda made my trip to Cali more fun (though I did manage to hit 110 at one point).

You do have to roll them up if he asks you to. It's against the law to disobey a lawful order from a police officer, any order. If he is in the wrong, deal with that later, but cover your butt by doing exactly what he says and not lying to him.

Sorry to hear about that. Nothing personal to cops out there, but I hate them! In my area, I swear there are cops out here that just go around to mess with people instead of trying to catch the real bad guys. Giving you a ticket for speeding was one thing, then being a jackass about the tint and the blue lights. Sorry to say, but I just don't have much respect for cops now.

If you weren't going 100 mph on a public road, he wouldn't have pulled you over, you wouldn't have got any tickets, no citations, and you wouldn't have wasted bandwidth...hehe.

Sometimes you can prevent bad things from happening.

maxima follow me?

was he talking to your car?
what are you like david hasselhoff in 'knight rider'? just keep on driving. defense: hey man, my name ain't maxima...

seriously though beware, you give up a large chunk of your 4th amemdment rights when you get behind the wheel. if you get on their bad side, it's real easy for a ******** oinkey to make up a little lie (ie: furtive movements) to allow a full search of your car, and possibly even your rectum.

tip of the week...

When traveling between vegas and the LA Area on I-15...HAVE A RADAR DETECTOR IF YOU SPEED!

NHP patrol typically leaves people entering Las Vegas alone if you aren't weaving in and out of traffic. They WILL ticket you if you're LEAVING vegas and breaking speed limits. This is from a Vegas resident.
