SC sounds like a can full of nuts & bolts

I started my car up this morning to warm up and it soulded like some one was rattling a coffee can full of nuts and bolts. I shut down the car and looked at the SC and nothing looks out of the ordinary. I started it back up and the same thing. It is coming from the SC. Befor today you could not tell that i had a SC (by sound). It runs fine, pulls hard but sound like hell.

Is mt SC going bad? What's up?

Does it make that sound when you rev it up above idle, or does it go away, like the V1 noise at idle?

Try to locate the sound by getting a mechanics stethoscope from Autozone. Maybe you will be able to determine if it is a blower bearing or just an idler pulley bearing, or even something else altogether.

do a search on BlackCat's thread. He had a similar problem and he recorded a sound file in the thread. turned out that his blower needs a rebuild.

WizzaMax: Yes the belt jumped on Sat. I loosened it up and moved it back in place Sun and this morning it started. It was fine Mon, Tues & Wed.
maxi-overdose: Yes it does sound similar and it gets louder when you give it the gas. But then seems to go away...or i can't hear it anymore because of the other sounds that go on.
Stephen Max: It's coming from the SC (95% sure)

I have had a grinding noise on the V2 SC ever since I got the damn thing so I thought that I had a defected blower. Well, I sent it back to Vortech and they checked on it and said that nothing was wrong with it. I install back in and I had the same noise going on again. BTW, it took like 3 months to get my charger back. I was ****ed! But anyways, now I am thinking that it is supposed to be like that. At idle it sounds like something is grinding bad in there, but once I start to give it gas, it goes away and u hear a tiny little whistle which IMO sounds hella tight! I am still unsure if my V2 is okay or not. Could my belt be too tight? I'll tell u this though... my Max runs hella good. Well, let us know what u find out.

Iansw posted for me a sound wav of my sick blower back in November. If yours sounded like mine at startup then its the bearings. Do a search on my nick and you'll find lots of info on my experiences.

And here it is!

Mine always makes the sound a little - but I have the V1 - and it's not NEARLY as loud as what BlackCat's sounded like (link above).
